Pasco groaned angrily, cupped his hands over his mouth, and shouted at the glimpses of an opposing force he could see approaching through the trees.

OURS: FUCKING ZERO. You are CLEARLY losing. You are GOING to lose if you keep this shit up! And what's the fucking POINT anyway?! You're so dead-fucking-BENT on preventing us from burying a dead man's body that you'd throw yourselves at us like a bunch of MASOCHISTS?! Or maybe you're still reeeeeally fucking attached to the whole "THEY'RE OUT TO GET US!!" thing, which one can see to be CLEARLY INCORRECT when they look at how NOT. ONE. PERSON. HAS. DIED. You've at LEAST been not suicidal enough to try and kill us, so we've returned the favor -- but if you keep charging us, we're just going to knock literally all of you out, bury our man, and then fucking leave. The only reason we're beating the daylights out of you left and right is because you keep attacking and attacking like a bunch of goddamn barbarians!"

Elysia contemplated the nature of people under paranoia. It would be truly hard to trust outsiders when your first contact with them ended in...horrible things. She was glad the people she was with did not follow that kind of thinking--despite some rough edges here and there.

She wondered how life was, outside Pavise...
