Elysia stopped herself from defending Eneas' unmentioned context, taking note herself of the subtleties in people's perceptions affecting their words, despite their meaning to be of good intent.

Instead, she capitalized on it just as Valerie did.

"I'm obviously feeling like the idea of 'sentient being' was in the place of 'human' and thus it just came out as common terminology. Eneas, is that a quote from the verses or something of your own understanding?"

"I don't think there's much to learn from me in that area."

Elysia smiled.
"I'm already learning!"

"Old. Reclusive. They do not spend much time with others. They spend their time among their own kind but they do not disturb us so we do not disturb them. They clearly wish for solitude so we give them that."

"This spider has fought humans, though, and doesn't know about any goddess. So this spider is evil?"

Isaac continued to stare at Inido. If he felt anything, he was making sure not to show it.

"Huh. Our demons are very different then; at least the ones that come to Thaus anyway. Most of them are young, by demons anyway, and come to get jobs and such."

"Alright everyone, that's enough of a break. The sooner we join up with the resistance the sooner we can get our bearings and make a plan. Let's move."

The group follows Mahkin and her friends through to forest, sticking mostly to the path a trampled grass. As they continue their trek through the forest the Nagas begin to show signs of anxiousness. Something clearly isn't right; however, it's impossible to tell without pressing onwards. At last the group sees a break in the trees. What awaited them was destruction; buildings ruined by both fire and force. One looks at the Nagas and it's clear this is their destination, even if they don't want to believe it. What's more, there seemed to be some sort of commotion going on...

"I'm telling you damn foxen this is our turf now that the group that was here before cleared out! We were here first and we're not going to leave just because you can use fire against us!"

"Heh, you'll regret that once you're burnt to... Hey! Who the hell are you!?"

"Dammit, we've been spotted."

"They got monsters and humans... They must be the remnants of the group that got driven out! Hey, let's make a deal. Whoever gets rid of them gets their turf."

"Sounds like a deal. You heard it boys and girls, burn them to a crisp!"

"Peter, get in the wagon, you'll be safer with me."

"I'll guard the wagon, everyone else focus on the enemy."


"What mess have I gotten myself into now? Let's hope if I stay still I won't be spotted..."
