Val idly scratched behind her left ear.

"As for you, Aenbarr, and Larini, I just haven't gotten a chance to know you that well yet. But... I do know that although Aenbarr doesn't show many emotions, he's also quite kind. Larini is strange, but I don't feel any sort of malice from her. She's so much like a child that I have to envy her. As for you, Valerie..."

When Eneas confessed that Andala terrified him, Cyryl couldn't help but start laughing out loud.

Val glanced at Cyryl, then back to Eneas.

"That's fair. I don't know you very well either. You're just... kinda..."

Her words slowed down as she realized where her train of thought was going, too late to put the brakes on it.

"...the guy whose friend died on the ship."

"I'm sorry about that, still. I guess we're all strangers in a strange place now, but you must be even lonelier than the rest of us."

Andala looked at Eneas, then at Cyryl, then Eneas again.

"Now that wasn't very nice, boy! Is that how you threat ladies in your country? I think I have to school you. Come to aunt Andala at once!" She then reached with her staff to bop the miscreant.

"W-we do have ladies back home, but t-they aren't at all like- Nngh!"

Eneas ducked slowly, trying to dodge the wild woman's staff swings while simultaneously carrying on a conversation with Valerie

"It's not just that. But also that -knack! It's tough to learn that your who raised you is also quietly exterminating any monster that crosses his path! Especially when you don't know why! Especially when you know that's not the man he is!"

He pauses for one moment, drawing up a small barrier against Andala before continuing.

"All that you know about us is that we're bigots. And that's not the whole picture of the Sanctuary. I just wish I could actually show you that somehow...

Hanna lightly coughs. "Can't speak for everyone, but they at least treated me right back there." she says, trying to at least save poor Eneas a bit of grief. "And this kind of thing might be part of why he's so scared."

"From what I hear, it's nothing to torture and murder a monster in the middle of the street in Sanctuary. That's the Sanctuary I know, and if that isn't the whole picture, I don't think I want to see the rest of it."

[SOLDIER First]

"Don't worry. Sanctuary's racist governance and tradition are wretched, but so are Belitram's." Aenbarr pointed out after turning his attention to Eneas.

"It's shameful that its current ruler is a Tarvos who enforces the same old situation after so many of us suffered retaliation for standing up against injustices." He sounded truly displeased by that fact, his pride as a tarvos wounded.

Valerie nodded in support of Aenbarr. She may have had more personal grievances against Sanctuary, but she agreed that Belitram wasn't blameless either.

"Across an entire damn ocean and people still have to make an issue of the smallest things..."
