Nantale raised an eyebrow and stared at the man.

"Tell me, is the rest of your group smarter or have you all simply survived thanks to dumb luck?"

"We were winning when you guys attacked us first. And your prince said you weren't supposed to attack anyway."

It wasn't fair to call Cyryl stupid when this strange person had done some dumb things herself.

[Haspen]

"Such friction... but they say that opposites attract! Maybe you two should get a room? I could probably get you some scented herbs to make your private time even more romantic."

"Everyone shows acuity and acumen of wit here. Even those who don't seem like it. Even the brash ones who speak insults in others' eyes."

Elysia did not notice the quip soaring over her head and took Nantale's words as serious as her love of cats.

Once others of his group had finished having their say, Cyryl spoke again. "We're smart enough. And tough enough too. A pair of qualities your troops seemed a bit lacking in when they unnecessarily engaged us. And then mostly got their asses whipped."

Eneas didn't have time for the islanders 'catty' behavior. Silently, he stole away into the woods, shovel in hand. Once he reached the clearing (giving a certain tree wide girth), he planted it into the ground clumsily. One tiny, aching scoop after another, he moved the earth.

His face contorted into a frown as his body moved up and down in heavy heaves.

: "Isis preserve me. This shall take every measure of my strength..."

Nantale yawned.

"You barely faced half of our troops and had the prince not intervened things may have gone differently than you think. But since that has nothing to do with what I was referring to, I hardly see why it was brought up. I was referring to the armored one's idea that he might... excite me as he put it. Since as you all have so lovingly pointed out, we did just meet."

Andala winked at Nantale.

"Don't you know the miracle that is love at the first sight?"

"Stupidity takes a number of forms. And slighting you and your forces is probably the closest thing to restitution that I am personally ever going to see, so that's why I'm cracking wise." Cyryl yawned hugely, stretching his arms out to his sides. "Doesn't matter, really. The ship will be ready to go soon, and I'll never have to come back here."

"And stop trying to get me into trouble Andala."

Nantale looked over the ship and raised an eyebrow.

"I don't know much about ships but that one does not look like it will be going anywhere any time soon. Especially since you need magical assistance as well."

She was ignoring the other comments.

[Haspen]

"Teehee, sorry Cyryl, I just had to."

"Eh, relatively soon. And I bet the sailors will be able to get things going again soon, it is their ship."

Back in his (original!) quadruped form as soon as the hateful ring was off his hand, Aenbarr simply watched the antics and decided not to slight the local further, no matter how deserved were the shots Cyryl was taking at her. The excessive yawning on her part seemed like a forced attempt to look confident, and two yawns of hers in a row had made Cyryl add his own. Before a new and more offensive alternative to a dance-off could start between Cyryl and Nantale, the tarvos decided to do something useful.

And that was how he followed Eneas' path and found him, apparently trying to dig a grave all by himself.

"Hey. Are you sure you don't need any help?"

Eneas stopped digging for a moment, revealing a pit hardly fit for a small gopher to be all that he had managed. He took one long at the hole, then turned his eyes up upon the centaur. He sighed breathily, body sinking in defeat.

: "Y-yes. I-I could use a hand."

With a rustle of leaves, Larini stuck her head out, half up a tree near Eneas and Aenbarr. She was chewing something.
"What are you doing?"
