Spoiler: Meat Industry (click to show/hide)
Heatherwrinkled was a dry, depressing place.  The only trees left were those the elves had named and lived in, and onul heard rumors that the humans exorted 'protection' money to keep the those few trees safe.  In the usual woodcrafting trees lay wooden barrels of porcupine meant and emu sweetbread; the elves were forced to butcher the local wildlife, exporting the products to make their living.  onul, seeing a solution to the problems of the site, decides to set the nearest tree alight.
It took some time for the fire to get going, so onul hung around, occassionally talking to the elves working in their various nests.  They conceded that they had little shelter in this area for onul to hide in, and that the rebels who occasionally tried to fight off the humans only made life for the civilian elves worse, but they made little mention of the growing flame.  It spread up and down before vertically.
Spoiler: Burning (click to show/hide)
After night fell, the flames began to attract the attention of elves strolling by in the evening.  The elves closest to the flames left their treetop perches, and joined the gathering crowd.  Some of the elves refused to leave the tree, and were consumed by the flames.  The sobbing of elves rang sweet to onul's ears, and she had stopped their cruel exportation of meat as well.  After informing the elves of her good deeds she left them to their own devices and traveled until dawn.  No bogeymen attacked her, although she swore she could feel their cold stares in the night; fleeting shadows that vanished when she focused upon them.
Spoiler: Onlookers (click to show/hide)

In the dawn hours a human with a vicious-looking maul approached.  Accusing onul of strating the fire, he demanded satisfaction for onul's 'disruption of industry', to which onul could only laugh.  A silly human, talking about a dwarf destroying industry!  That human was interested only in the pure profit he could rip from the land, and cared nothing for the quality behind it.  Wresting the maul from the human, onul put it where it belonged.
Spoiler: Belonged (click to show/hide)
It was only a matter of breaking the human's will; and that was as simple as dodging behind him.  She instinctly felt guided through this process as if she possessed the knowledge of many adventurers. :p

Spoiler: Tower (click to show/hide)
Arriving on site the next day, onul dropped out of fast travel a full 2 tiles before she was forced to and immediately crawled her way stealthly to the tower.  She had heard that zombies inside a tower could sense the slightest movement outside their domain, and did not wish to test that.  She, however, hear the brief sounds of combat within, and one of the necromancers ran out of the tower shortly afterward.  The necromancer himself kept approaching onul, drawing a knife, and then fleeing away.  He even talked to onul, telling her about how the elves had declared war upon them for the deforestation efforts on-site.  He directed me inside to get actual jobs, and in his sprinting state was simply too fast to chase down.  onul agreed to take a job from the necromancer if he agreed to teach her how to read and how raise her own defenders.

Spoiler: Necros (click to show/hide)
Inside, the necromancers were vey pelasant to talk with, asking onul to strike down 2 criminals in large cities, a kobold camp, and a band of bandits.  Sounding simple enough, onul set off to perform her task.  Less than a mile down the road from the tower a female bandit stood, watching his progress.  With a 2handed steel sword in hand, the female could not be dissuaded from attacking.  Knocking onul on the ground with a shoulder-charge, the female swung down upon onul's neck.  The blow was stopped by the ground, but only after lodging into onul's neck and bleeding an artery.

Grabbing the sword with her elbow-joint, onul swung at the lower body of the human, bruising her guts and buying time to wildly swing at her foot.  After a struggle to maintain the sword through the only means she had, onul managed to crush the human into submission and took the sword back to the tower.  She offered the blade to a necromancer in hopes of gaining favor, but recieved nothing of the sort.  She'd have to do the job she was sent out to do.

The job took 3 days.  onul faced little in the way fo resistance, but recieved the scorn of peasantry and even nobility.
Spoiler: scorn (click to show/hide)
Such insults were not taken well, and onul quickly crushed those who would consider themselves above her.

Her jobs finished, onul returned to reap her reward.
Spoiler: Reward? (click to show/hide)
The mortal footsoldiers of the leader stood by, watching gleefully as she was disappointed.
She was told she would never be able to read, but still finding herself unable to catch the necromancer ringleader, who constantly sprinted away from her, onul decided to rest her body on location.

She learned that most of the zombies were out sieging the elves, and that The necromancer leader, Assulto, was attempting to break away from the human civilization they had previously been using as protection.  Several zombies were out trying to ambush wanderers, the most prominent being a zombie who was animated in 24, over 80 years ago.

003A-03  Timber

onul spent 2 weeks talking to the necromancers, attempting to get them to teach her to read.  She told them of how she set Heatherwrinkled on fire, and how there was always fighting over control of the land there.  Assulto, the lead necromancer decided to besiege the area, telling onul of a camp to the distant northwest that was staffed by another necromancer who was accepting apprenices.
Spoiler: 2 weeks (click to show/hide)

Traveling north and west, onul passed through countless biomes, killing ambushing animals, offending goblins, and undead birds in the tundra.
Spoiler: Elk (click to show/hide)
onul found goblin copper armor, and attracted 2 companions, a goblin lasher and a human crossbowman.  Traveling to the base of the Routed Peaks, onul trecked the last day of her journey afraid to sleep or eat due to the intense heat of the area.

In her rush to get in contact with the necromancer lord of the camp, onul fast-traveled directly up to the site, a mistake that she had to sprint from.

onul dropped her heavy bag of meat and sprinted away, leaving her companions for dead and working her way around to the far side of the camp.  Crawling in the intense heat was rough, but she avoided the horde that pursued her, canvasing the area with suprising organization.
Spoiler: zombie pursuers (click to show/hide)

In the end, however, onul was able to sneak up to and convince the necromancer to let her serve him.
Spoiler: lieutenant onul (click to show/hide)

She would have to avoid the zombies, however, as they were always out for her blood.
Spoiler: You Feel Uneasy (click to show/hide)
Nevertheless, onul retired at Wavearch.
