~/The movie freezes and stutters in mid run As Kelli La Quena fights the reptilian alien trying to crawl up the shower drain with a bar of soap. Right before the towel comes off, naturally.

Technological difficulties are generally to be expected, given your funding, but what caused the interruption of the signal (the movie is being streamed via satellite link from XCOM HQ) is unclear.~/

Maria mutters a curse, and goes to examine the TV, trying to fix the connection.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

"Now that you mention it, dad mentioned that most communications went down when aliens attacked a location. They jammed the signal."

"Yeah, the secret alien civilisation beneath the waves has randomly woken up and is attacking this base in particular. Sure it's aliens."

"It's like something that would happen in this movie." Beth says, gesturing to the frozen screen.

Maria mutters a curse, and goes to examine the TV, trying to fix the connection.

Maria can find nothing obviously wrong with the wireless connection.

"Well... why don't we get suited up just in case, despite how bad that movie was I'm suddenly very aware of how deep we are and far away from reinforcements.  If it is nothing, well we can  always blast a few sharks."  Steady moves to get into his triple reinforced suit and gigantic ballistics rifle.

"Could be some terrorists trying their luck or something..." Maria mutters, and then would go to get suited up.

"Probably just some kelp stuck on the aerial. If they're terrorists, they're bad ones. Oh, no, some distant company backwater got attacked and nothing of value was lost."
He raised an eyebrow at the others not being suited up. He already was - no way he was trusting a base that had more leaks than the crew after the Taco Night food poisoning incident.
"I gotta admit, I'm surprised you guys trust the construction enough not to wear your suit all the time."

"If the construction failed at this depth, we'd neither be able to surface for depressurization death nor have enough oxy in our suits to wait for a rescue sub.  So.... yeah I'd rather be crushed quickly thanks."

There is a loud triple 'bong' of the announcement system coming online. You all wait patiently, some while suiting up-it takes at least a minute for the system to actually get around to it.

The voice on the intercom you have all become accustomed to over the months is an Alto female, vaguely Italian. No one knows the name of the woman who's voice was used in the recording-it's one of X-Com's darkest secrets, apparently.
