mine ores to feed furnaces!
destroy vegetation!
kill natives for science!

factorio is so damn fun right?

I'm starting a multiplayer server for all to enjoy

post here to have ip:port (usually I'd just give the ip out but there is no blacklisting people so we go by honor system)

you'll also need:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/aulw8h83y4174h1/no-evo_0.2.0.zip?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/uyp40my30t8p8tz/endless-resources_0.3.0.zip?dl=0

those mods make resources endless (with diminishing returns, like oil) and remove enemy evolution caused by pollution and time (only killing bases aggroes the enemy)

A free for all? Hmm. I should probably give that a try. I just wish this wasn't starting at the beginning of my work week and the two busiest days of the week. I'll have to find time for this even if it seems like an easy mode setup. Throw me a bone.

IT HAS BEGUN

We have machine guns. Pew pew. Rudimentary outpost is set up. Basically about half an hour of play solo.

My time will be spotty. Sometimes I can play while at work, but not often.

oh no worries I didn't intend to suggest managed time session

alas, my time is spotty as well (parent visiting etc, it's a miracle I managed to script the server)

Managed time sessions with TeamSpeak will likely be the best experience, but that will be difficult. For now it'll have to be here and there growth.

Pumped some more research and got steel running. Made some green science in my pocket.

It's 6AM pacific and I'll be on for an hour or so, probably.

I've started mapping out a main bus to the south. It has some guns and walls. Bases will need to be attacked to the east and west of the bus. The bus is ready to be hooked up. We do need automated green science. I wanted to set up a bus before we started major science production. We could scale up quickly now to get that running and put science down at the south end. The bus is east/west and has lots of room to grow. Lots of metal inputs can be shoved in all around it. Aliens at the southwest are the biggest threat.

I'd be willing to give this a shot; fair warning, my factories usually end up looking like M.C. Escher paintings.

Played a fair bit today before my connection issues became too problematic. Hopefully at least some of my additions/improvements turn out to be useful. When I left we were beginning the long slog toward automated blue science production.

Blue is half automated by the batteries. You have to feed it smart inserters (which are being made waaaaaaay at the south end of science) and steel.

I got blue science mostly automated; you only have to manually feed it the smart inserters now, and it's slow enough even with modules that you can feed it like fifty then walk away for an hour. Speaking of, I also made a couple speed modules to help ease the kinks out of some of the slower parts of the system; namely, the oil refinery (which might have been a mistake given the massive power it eats) and the blue science crafter. There's probably more applications for the speed modules, but those are the things I tacked them onto.

Also I tried to set up a rudimentary solar farm in the upper-west area; most of my designs were kinda shit so that probably needs improvement or just plain overhauling. There's solar panel and accumulator factories at the bottom of the factory chain and next to the blue science respectively.

I also built a small wall factory just to the west of the iron smelters; there should be a ton of walls in a chest there for all your fortification needs.

Oh, and I built a tank and murderized a few enemy installments to the west. There's still a nasty one to the southwest with a couple of big worms, but it should be doable with a tank and enough poison pods.
