[Twinwolf]

"Morning, Maria. I didn't know you could cook." Callista says, sitting at the table, still reading her book.

[Adragis]

Maria looks up briefly, then returns to the frying pan. "Ah, good morning, Callista. Yes, I can cook, although I daresay I'm not the best with timings. Want some? There's plenty of it, and full stomachs are probably conducive to good monster training, hmm?"

[Twinwolf]

"If it would be no trouble."

[Adragis]

"None at all. I've made too much already, and I don't think eating it all would be good for my figure, tasty as it is. Want a bacon sandwich, or just bacon?"
Maria pokes at the sizzling meat with a pair of tongs, flipping a few pieces.

[Twinwolf]

"Sandwich."

[Adragis]

A good amount of crispy bacon is neatly laid out on a slice of buttered bread, and another slice put over the top. The sandwich is then put on a plate and subsequently in front of Callista.
Maria goes back to the oven, makes herself a sandwich, and places the frying pan in the sink, running the cold tap over it for a few seconds.
She sits down at the table with her sandwich.

[Twinwolf]

Callista starts eating. Between bites: "This is good. Thank you."

[Adragis]

Maria smiles. "Thank you. How're you finding things so far? I take it you met your monster?"
She also takes a bite.

[Twinwolf]

"The ranch is nicer than I thought it would be, given the price. I met my monster, yes. A turtledog named Ben."

[Adragis]

"It's quite dirty and run-down, but I'm sure that can be easily fixed. The ranch, not Ben."

[Twinwolf]

"Obviously. What I meant was, for the price we got, I was expecting a 1 room shack and a barn with holes the size of a grown minotaur."

[Adragis]

"It's surprisingly expansive, yes. Still, I suppose the Moreaus must have used it themselves, back in the day. I hear they were quite successful."

[Twinwolf]

"Perhaps they did. Or maybe there's some other reason it was so cheap, like someone died here or there's secretly a volcano beneath our feet."

[Adragis]

"It'd explain why they hurried off so quickly."
Her face looks somewhat amused.

[Twinwolf]

"Indeed. Or maybe I'm just overly paranoid and the old owners just wanted to make a guaranteed sell."
