Inspired by and with the permission of the great and powerful Cheesecake, I've decided to start a monster breeder RP.
Your story:
You and a few friends have taken out a huge loan of 100,000 coin to buy yourselves your own monster ranch. It's a bit run down, but was a great deal considering that monster ranches typically cost several times that amount. Included in that loan was enough money for each of you to purchase a single starter monster to get your ranch started. The old Moreau ranch is located outside a rural town and several hours away from any major population center.
World lore:
200 years ago monsters suddenly appeared in the world. The world was not technologically advanced and had only begun to dabble in magic. Overnight the world became a much more dangerous place, and the lives of many a knight were lost to the monsters. However as time passed defenses were raised and many lands were rid of the most dangerous of monsters. However, many dangerous monsters still roam the untamed frontiers of the world. In the last 20 years some people got the idea to tame monsters and use them to defend and better society. Some reguardless this a dangerous and ludicrous, but others found that the best way to fight monsters is with their own monsters. Within a few years monsters made their way into the everyday life and culture of the world.
What your ranch comes with:
5 monster "stalls" - non specialized enclosures that can hold any normal type monsters. They are basically bare at this point and will need to furnished to suit specific monster needs.
1 Tartarus - A strange swirling dark pit enclosed in a room made of stone bricks. When monsters die, they may respawn from their home Tartarus if they have attuned their souls to it. In addition, if two monsters enter a Tartarus, they may fuse their energy to form a new offspring monster. This process is not well understood and doesn't always work.
1 training area- it's big enough that several monsters of small size may train there at once.
4 monsters- one for each player.
1 farm house- has 4 bedrooms, a kitchen, one full bath, one half bath, and a living room.
1 small stream and pond- located close to the edge of your property.
Available starter monsters:
Normal slime: A blue gelatinous monster. It has a single slime core and is about the size of a child. Slimes are basic starting monsters with no particular strengths. They do however possess the ability to learn several abilities that could be helpful in many situations. A utility monster.
Minitaur: A miniature sized Minotaur. It's about 4 feet all. It's very strong, but that's really it. It has low level intelligence, and is capable of speech. It's very territorial and loyal to it's owner and friends. An offensive monster.
Shadow sprite: A 3 foot tall humanoid composed of a dense black mist. Shadow sprites are smart and sneaky. They are not capable of speech, but do understand it quite well. They hate direct light and tend to hide places. Loves hide and seek. A stealthy monster.
Turtledog: A strange mix of snapping turtle and pit bull. This monster is slow, but has high dense. It is territorial and makes a wonderful guard monster. It is of animal intelligence. A defensive monster.
Junker: A somewhat rusty construction of sentient scrap metal. It has four legs arranged in an X formation and the torso of a humanoid. It has one single mechanical eye. It is a hoarding monster and will tend to collect things. A speed/defense monster.
Bean man: A 4 foot tall monster that looks like a giant pea pod with arms and legs. It has no mouth and two eyes on either side. It is a more relaxed monster, and tends to avoid combat. Doesn't need food, but does need to photosynthesis. Can understand speech, but can't speak. Enjoys gardening and other pursuits that require patients and time. A utility monster.

Starting monster:
This game is not first come first serve. There will be a secret selection process. This game will be RP intensive, and not rule intensive. By that I mean If it comes down to it, I'll roll for some actions and events, but there won't be much more in the way of strict mechanical functions. RP will be the main focus by far.
This game will, if there are enough players, start when I return to my laptop and don't have to type all this on my phone. Please pardon any errors in this post, for that same reason.
