Still, class does not matter in the slightest. Archer used a bow all of once, and used swords the rest of the time.

...Gun is a type of staff, you know.

They don't speak English in Japan. Basically, it has to do with the history of Saber being called "Saver" in development or something. Lancer uses lances, Assassin assassinates, caster casts, and Saber uses swords. Tis the way of the world. But yeah, Saber would be the class of the typical Ronin Samaria. There was technically a katana-user as fake-assassin, though the weird circumstances behind that make it a bit different.
