Bio: Mahkin is a Naga that has been living in secret in the country of Crayld her entire life. Because of her appearance, and being able to hide the scales on her body, it was fairly easy for her to blend into crowds when it was necessary for her to go into public. She'd have to wear a shawl, or some other covering, to keep her eyes hidden, because while it would be possible to write off the scales on her face as some sort of markings, her eyes glow a brilliant yellow, the iris a dark black line; strikingly lizard in appearance.
Because of this, she hasn't had much of a chance to meet with or talk to many humans other than those that were on the side of monsters, who were few and far between in this country. If they were on her side, they were mostly interested in business, moving her to a new safehouse, keeping the other monsters safe. They weren't interested in conversation. This left Makin to her devices for a while, to get into learning magic.
Unfortunately for her, while she has an aptitude for Anima magic, Fire magic disagrees with her abilities. If she ever gets too excited in her casting, the explosion of magic singes back to her hand, causing her to burn herself. Despite this, she's been trying her best to control the element, and has practiced it the most, though the error still persists.
Of late, the movement in Crayld to liberate monsters from their persecution has been gaining ground. While it hasn't resulted in any changes, organized protests have begun appearing through the townships, and for the first time in 22 years, she's been able to walk some of the streets without disguising herself for fear of being killed on the spot. It is a welcome change, but it needs more ground to get moving, else it's just hot air.
Personality: Mahkin is kind and up to talk, despite her lack of interactions with people. It leads her to not getting a few social cues, but she's quick to pick up on them if given a moment to analyze. While humans have persecuted her for so long, she doesn't hate them, and is willing to speak with any that show her the same respect she tries to give them. She hasn't let the backward thinking of the continent get to her, so much that it's simply been a way of life, one that she's finally being able to change.
