Los Diablos, City of Scum [RPG]
This Campaign takes place on an alternate universe’s modern Earth, this will be a sci-fi based RPG, with super powers, mutants, abominations, maybe zombies if I feel like I could bs it into the story, and etc. It will be mixture between dice rolling and Rping, I will keep it fair as much as possible but the dice do not control the game I do. So if I feel like a certain action, will succeed or fail regardless of the dice I will state a RPS/RPF(Roleplay Success/Failure). Very rarely will RPS/RPF happen in a PVP situation but if it does, respect that I will not be showing favoritism to any one character. Lastly, Expect to die quickly in this game (as I am working out some kinks), anyone who dies can make another character and join in right back in, unless there are people wait listed of course.
Backstory
It is the day Dec, 24 2035, technology in recent years has made many extraordinary breakthroughs, creating a cure for cancer, more efficient source of fuel, among other achievements, and this was all due to the worst natural disaster recorded in humankind history, on April 21, 2001 a series of 9.0 earthquakes, 7 to be exact, started worldwide causing around 200-300 billion dollars worth of damages around each of the afflicted areas. This had been the 1st global natural disaster ever recorded in human history also known as the The Great Quakes, claiming an average of 2,000-5000 lives per quake, initially however the earthquakes caused something much worst. A purple gas seemed to rupture out from underground veins in the areas in which the quakes had occurred, this gas was toxic for humans causing the death of another 20-30,000 people. This substance, later became known as Miasma and it was thanks to many devoted researchers that this deadly toxic gas that had killed over a hundred thousand people in one day is now being used to save lives and will be used to further improve the lives of those who were most affected…. Is what many people who were lead to believe but after major companies discovered it had multiple marketable uses, they began buying up areas around the sites of Miasma. And with many "donations" to the local governments, the companies ensured that they could do whatever they wished with the Miasma. Human experimentation was not unheard of and rumors of Companies creating super soldiers for the Governments, further ensuring that they would be able to Monopolize the Miasma. This lead to many people to go missing in areas around the the miasma and caused fear and anger amongst the population, leading to people fear one another and eventually turning on each other. The City of Los Diablos is one such place, murders, kidnapping, drug/human trafficking happen on a daily basis, and this is where your story takes place.

Noncombat Skills: you get 8 skill points, no single skill has more than 3 points. Examples: medicine, chemistry, streetwise, etc.
(Optional) Power: You have a minor power, you may have been born with it or maybe you or your parents got expose to large quantities of Miasma. Whatever the reason you have one, though you're not an expert in it’s use. If you choose to have a power you get half the amount of combat and noncombat skills, but it will grow the longer you use it. Some powers will have drawbacks or weaknesses. These will be Pm'd to you, when you select your power.

Players currently acceptedDescription: Khan is 6 foot 6 inches and has pale white skin with neither blemishes nor notable other marks excepting a slightly crooked nose. His eyes are naturally blue but seem to be so exceptionally bloodshot that they appear to be red. His hair color is unknown as he is lacking in both facial hair, hair on his head, eyebrows and any hair on his skin. Typically Khan wears a black suit, though will frequently change into what seems to be a janitorial outfit that is dark purple in color when committing criminal activities.
Personality: His personality would best be described as alien, though bi-polar and schizophrenic are also acceptable. Regardless for this he is not crazy, it is merely that his thought processes that lead to his actions are next to impossible to determine.
Bio:Khan's criminal life began as a young child, he frequently beat up other kids in the school yard, extorted them for money, favors and items that he liked and went so far as stealing from both kids, teachers and the school itself. One would think that his parents would of tried to stop this behaviour though as far as his teachers and legally assigned criminal psychologist could tell, they instead rewarded it. More frequently even he was rewarded when some particularly heinous criminal offense would be untraceable to him. Unfortunately when a spree of unexplained murders occurred in his home town it was subsequently abandoned except for his family. What happened to him then is a mystery until he resurfaced years later, a full grown man that quickly earned himself a name among criminal circles. One of Khan's few redeeming features however is that he can not abide excessive abuse to animals (yelling at dogs and lightly beating them are fine by him, damping the one thing that might make him seem to have a soul.) and anything to do with children under the age of 12 is also strictly off record.
Eventually Khan was chased from the normal cities for murdering half of his previous gang when one of the members gunned down a young girl and her puppy. With a mafia bounty on his head, and no real care to change it Khan made his way to Los Diablos for reasons unknown.
Goal: Known only to him, but his general direction seems to be 'whatever he finds amusing or satisfying at that point in time.' He also seems to be attempting to amass a cult following of like minded individuals though success so far is not forth-coming.
Description: A young woman of distinctly Asian descent-she has fair skin, small dark green eyes topped with flat brows, and hair black as a raven, worn in a very long tail that swings down to the small of her back. She's fairly short, and reasonably slender with a good deal of toned, lean skin.
Personality: 'Saki' as she prefers to be called, tends to be level headed and calm, acting with precision and care for consequences. She rarely speaks or acts without internal deliberation-she is hesitant to act on instinct, and occasionally seized by an indecisive fear. She is pessimistic and distrustful of most people, and sees the world through a bleak glass, not valuing words-she usually only judges by deeds. She can be vain of her looks, and takes great pride in them. Saki is, at her base, fairly selfish-she has experienced loss and want, and will do almost anything to never want again, though she does not like to cause havoc unless she is forced to. Saki is also very comfortable with lies and manipulations. She tends to value friendships and such as important in her life-for as long as they last, what few of them she has-her very traits make her a very poor friend indeed. She has an interesting love of plants and growing things, and likes cooking her own meals from her own gardens. She has little empathy but a good deal of logical thinking, making her a good surgeon and doctor, but a poor nurse.
Bio: Asuka Saki was very young when the miasma struck, fleeing from her home in the Meiji mainland along with thousands of other refugee families. Life in the camps in Neo-Qin was difficult to bear, as corruption among their 'hosts' was frequent. She survived, however, learning the many small things one needed to learn-Saki learned how to charm, flatter, and intimidate-how to move in the ugly parts of any city. She learned many languages, and dealt with many peoples...eventually found her calling in medicine...sort of. Pills, poultices and ampoules-as many people needed their pleasure drugs, as needed actual medical aid. She would provide both, for the right price. Entirely self taught, with the help of some old books and a depressing amount of trial and error. She kept her head down, and tried to stay out of sight-hoping she could stock away enough O-yen to vanish forever. She didn't expect to be kidnapped by members of a vengeful local cartel looking to raid her goods, and sold to the nearest boat heading to Los Diablos. Granted, she had run across that particular group one too many times and had by then ran out of friends.
Waking up across the pacific ocean for the first time in her life after a fairly comfortable ride in a container ship, she found a new and unwelcome addition to her wardrobe-a thin silver chain around her neck, very light, and almost pretty in a certain light-it could almost be taken for a piece of jewelery. This chain had a miniature miasma powered explosive implanted in the back of the neck, however, which is how the Roja Cartel control their slaves...which, she has unfortunately has found herself as. These sorts of collars tend to explode if someone nudges a red button, or tries to travel to far outside of city limits with permission. Normally, a girl as pretty as she would find 'work' quickly enough in Roja's Gambling Dens and Gentlemans Clubs, but Saki's knowledge of medicine and street dealing has earned her a rare chance to use her mental skills, in lieu of her physical ones. As long as she makes them money on the streets, she continues to have a degree of freedom, and some pull in the Cartel-with the ever present bait of having the collar taken off for good, if she does them enough favors or one big one.
She chafes under this, but accepts it for now-mostly up till now she's been pulling bullets from, and stitching the calves of from cartel members, and treating minor cases of miasma poisoning-never ceasing to plot her escape from this unwelcome servitude.
Goal: Saki primarily wishes to rid herself of the Roja Cartel, and their odious collar on her neck by any means.

Name: Knight Algaria
Description: Algaria (real name Sarah Cunningham) is a medium height, with shortish dull brown hair. Her face is relatively delicate, if mostly hidden behind her breath mask. Her eyes are dull green. Her skin is a dusky tone. She is relatively well muscled due to living a strenuous life style.
Personality: Algaria is rather trapped by her circumstance, and does her work grudgingly, but a sense of pride means he wants to do it well.
Bio:
Life isn't easy for mutants. The miasma produced things barely human, and living on the outskirts of the city meant you were trapped between the hunter squads from the city and the monsters from out.
The Dragonslayer Knights are, of course, not actual knights. High-price mercenaries, they're hired by megacorps and governments to deal with unruly elements. Typically mutants and monsters, but the occasional gang as well.
Algaria, as she grew and her powers developed, realised she needed more than she could scrape or steal on her own. She applied for the Dragonslayers.
Goal:
Algaria requires a breathing gas of air-miasma mix in order to remain alive. This is supplied by her employers, the Dragonslayer Knights. She is supplied this as part of her employment. If she stops work, they stop giving her the gas cylinders. Capiche? With enough money, she could afford enough mix to retire in relative comfort... or get a promotion to higher in the company food chain. Also, get a better trumpet.

(Optional) Power: Slow shapeshifting. With focus, Algaria can can her body physically. Simplest things take only a minute or two - handing fingers into claws, by lengthing and hardening the bones; makign her skin tougher with scales, tough enough to stop knives or shards of glass - with more complex shapes and forms taking anything from hours or days to produce, and the more shifts she has going, the much harder it is the maintain them - else her body starts breaking them down and resetting to "factory standard."
Description: Fairly muscled dude, looks almost average if it wasn't for the fact that he's always wearing a mask on his head.
Personality: Fairly Friendly guy, Doesn't enjoy murdering people... and if you knew him you would be laughing because he loves killing in droves.
Bio: Masky is pretty much insane. Criminally so in fact, he used to kill guys who were starting to get a reputation for murder before he got tired of that. So, he started going after small gangs of them, stealthily sneaking in busting up some heads and then walking out the front door a little worse for wear.

Name: ".. I think it was Kiv? Or Perhaps It's Kit. It's blurry. Hard to remember.. I'll use Kiv. For now."
Description: Kiv/Kit for the most part, look like a normal human female, however the skin is somewhat abnormally pale, the teeth seem a little more like fangs then would be normal and the nails are almost claws. They do have an abnormal number of scars on their body, many of them medical scars. When Kiv is awake, the eyes are a deep purple. When Kit is awake, the eyes are a brilliant green. They are about 5'7 in height, rather lean, and somewhat more muscled then the average human female. They look like they could use something to eat. Borderline underweight. Biologically the body is in its 17's.
Personality. Kiv is ponderous. He thinks probably a bit too much about whatever he does. He fancies himself somewhat of a philosopher. Or at least he once did. Kiv used to be a geneticist, primarily working with the various parasites that began to crop up when the Miasma began. He went through quite a number of test subjects before the.. Incident.
Kit is a relatively feisty juvenile delinquent. Or at least she was. She's impulsive and volatile, this got her into a number of fights prior to the Incident. Although the experience from those fights kept her alive on the streets.
Bio: Kiv was a relatively well behaved child, originally he took an interest in computers, he dabbled in hacking for a short while before anatomy caught his interest. Then he became curious as to what made people tick. Which led him to genetics. He's always had a fascination for parasites and was hired by a corporation researching just that. His work gradually became increasingly immoral, although he didn't mind, he was fascinated. And then the Incident happened. He now is somehow displaced within another's body, sharing both a brain and a craving for flesh. He can see his old body. It's quite dead. The skull seemingly chewed through and much of the brain gone. He stares at it with a somewhat morbid fascination.
Kit grew up an orphan. Alone and abandoned, she made her way through years of poverty through petty theft, breaking and entering, and rarely pickpocketing. At around age 15, she was acquired by a corporation as a test subject. She had no say in the matter. Two years passed, painful medical experiments and surgeries. Implants, removal of said implants. Then, everything artificial was removed. Weeks passed, she recovered from the numerous surgeries. Only one experiment was done during that time. An injection. Another week and things began to get odd. It started with hunger pains. Then a ravenous appetite. And then, as a scientist entered the room to bring her her meal. Everything went red. And then black. Consciousness flares. Although Something or Someone else is in control.
Goal: Existence, learning, and science for Kiv, Fun, control, and food for Kit. Kit's a bit of a sadist. Kiv does not approve.
((Basically, Kiv got his brain eaten by Kit, due to the excess of biomass, The eaten parts of Kiv's brain mutated into part of Kit's upper chest and lung due to a surplus of biomass consumed soon after. They share a body effectively. Kiv doesn't remember all the skills from his carrier due to structural damage to brain. Control state shifts between the two at random. Feel free to roll for it whenever the shit you want~))
