turn a blind eye on piracy in regards to the immigrant fleets.
This is going to come back to bite us in the ass. I suggest we keep a very close eye on pirate activities.

Any ways on to my suggestions!

Re: fleet orders
I've drawn up a simple OOB that gives core worlds a strong fleet presence along with frontier fleets to roam and deal with anything that might happen on the outskirts (rebellion, piracy etc.) The Rapid Response Fleet headed by the battleship should prove sufficient backup to any local threats, though maybe we'll want to keep it stationed in the sector capitol fleet and swap it out with a Heavy Cruiser. Depending on how many ships are coming through I set aside a number of our smaller craft to deal with... 'border inspections'.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Re: Police Forces
Personally I'm for a limited increase, but it should definitely be light in nature. I just don't want to see their police force turn into some sort of heavily armed paramilitary. I'm assuming it would just be ground forces?

Re: Administration
An increase in jobs and infrastructure should help offset the economic damage a large influx of poor immigrants may cause. I'd recommend ensuring that the new facilities also have strong education programs for the new arrivals. Not only for job placement, but cultural education as well to reduce friction between new-comers and those who have lived in the sector for generations.

Re: Officers
I think it would definitely be prudent to see a list of potentials candidates, both new and currently stationed in the fleet. Good officers will  make the fleet so we shouldn't make any rash decisions. Findingofficers with the right mix of loyalty and skill will most likely be difficult.

+1 to fleet orders.

Officers: Search for candidates within our sector. We want someone loyal to us but with experience in managing fleets (simply being part of that process is enough). Specialization in Heavy Cruisers or Destroyers are a plus but we should look at all specs.

RRF should be commanded by ourselves.

Administration: Sounds like something our Brother should be advising them on not us. If the families who rule want to enlarge their holdings and their barracks..Thats not our say so long as they respect our authority and not cause trouble. We will NEVER tolerate genocide or tyrannical practices by public officials. Now if they want to put together a Government sponsored KKK, that's on them. We'll act with force when it comes down on them.

Police: An increase in police ground forces is a definitive must as well as lard specialized prisons Re-education camps for immigrants who cause trouble. Space wise, Would say one Light Cruiser and 2 Destroyers per planet. Additionally each planet should have a "Planetary Anti-Terroist Department" that deals with whatever overly radical political/nationalistic/religous/anarchist/cultural extremist and militant factions.

The Hegomony belongs to us and they must accept their new home.

((I'm taking a RP perspective on this if anyone cares))

Personally, I prefer the suggestion I made... where is it...

I suggest that we split instead into six fleets, each with atleast one heavy cruiser, five destroyers, and 15 frigates, with extras assigned to our sixth fleet. One of each of the smaller units will be assigned to defending each world, aswell as convoys between them.

Mostly its just a cosmetic thing. I do like the idea of having additional fleets for dealing solely with the newbies though.

((Uhm...with "Police Forces" i meant that the local Houses want to increase their military presence by adding militias, they tried to work around that.
The added barracks meant an increase in planetary defenses))

Loyal to himself is pretty simple but what is a Confederate?

Loyal to the sector

RE: petitions to increase militia/ planetary defences

Is there any Mandate protocol in regards to handling these requests? I imagine there are loopholes, but how would the core worlds handle a request to have a militia strengthened or created? I don't think we should throw the rule book out completely.

Takeda is the only one I like to be honest. The Nobunaga's would sell us out or try to set us up and would be morelikely to sponsor pirates in return for a cut. As for the Loyalist...Well their going to be questioning us pretty soon.

We'll need to look out for other talented officers when the time comes...

As for the clarification: One destroyer and 60 Corvettes sounds good. That way they remain weak enough to fight should they trully rebel but strong enough to handle immigration and pirate raids. Corvette's i'm sure make amazing patrol craft and once they find the pirates they call in back up from the destroyer and our fleet.

The names seem to be a bit inconsistent.
Shimazu Nobunaga

Takeda Kyuzo

Hayashida Heihachi

Shimada Kambei

Katayama Gorobei

Oda Katsuhiro
I put them in a "last name - first name" order.

By the way, I like Katsuhiro.

EDIT: We should go see our mother Ryuku. From what Omi says it could be bad :(

Besides we can tell her about how important relaxing is and calm her down with our presence. By the way a more traditional dress would be better suit than a Mandate Naval uniform.

((Knave, there is a reason those gentlemen kept it as "Police Force". THe Mandate has made sure to stamp out any attempts at large scale ship production which does not serve the Mandate Fleet. However Ground Troops are mostly the Planetary Governments perogative.))

Hmm, okay that's what I thought.
I've even more inclined to not allow them any naval assets at this point. I'd rather wait and see if there is any retaliation for turning away so many incoming civ ships.
We have to tow a line between Mandate and Family interests or we'll get bounced out fairly quick.

EDIT:
Thought of some questions regarding the Admiral Candidates.
Is there a specific number we should choose? I'm pretty sure we could find a place for all of them. Personally I'm for a more balanced approach, but other players are leaning more to the 'confederate' side and ultimately since this is a suggestion game we only have one voice :)

Sorry didn't mean to shut out other voices. You should have spoke up more  :P

But no seriously, who we pick to command our ships is crucial or they could just turn their guns (Which We don't get replacements for I fear) on us. I like the idea of using greyline tactics/actions to keep the Hegomony self-governing and self-directing.

No need to apologize! :)
I'm all for autonomy, I'm just advocating a more conservative route. Making sure we don't get into too much trouble like... jiminy cricket? :P

jiminy cricket?

Who's that?

I kinda have to ask the GM though how fast news of the Hegomonies actions will come back to the senate. An how many other rim worlds are willing are taking in prisoners immigrants?

Is Omi going to be talking to other Rim World leaders to do something about this?
