Watch the vid. Them Kislevites bounce around in almost elvish ways. Leaps, spins, flips. About 3:30 to 4:05 or so momentarily. But total "culture of Kislev" the whole way through. lol

But yeah. Nailed it. That's your starting line-up. All with background music.

If I'm honest, I prefer vaguely racist russian stereotypes to 'Hey look at this race which is full of fat geckos but we're going Reverse their timeline because headcanon'.
Vaguely racist russian stereotypes all the way.

But where's the legs?

There ain't very long ones. I think the developers might have decided "these stats *could* fit a rather cool historical stereotype that fits an area well", (and the Russian market is huge), rather than saying "everyone in South America is conceptually a fucking frog in Our/GW's eyes"

Pretty safe bet marketing-wise. Precisely how long do you think a skaven's legs need to get before they're "allowed" to have the trait anyway? They've got the "marketing" trait as it is, so anything could mutate into anything from that point.

------------
South America already has Lizardmen and Skinks. And Kroxigors  They could now have toads and frogs too. Or one of the two teams. Take your pick. Russia got long legs. Whatever.
(note: Lizardmen are a cool team. Australia (an entire continent too) doesn't even get our Chaos Penguins mentioned in the LRB. Every BB team that comes here gets eaten by "Rugby the Butcher" and the drop bears. But frogs are pretty crappy after the awesome that is lizards. We don't complain that we didn't end up with them attributed to us. Mostly because we know there's Chaos Pact left :) )

I don't know what this 'south america' is you speak of, but Lustria is full of lizards, of course. And some dark elves.

Also I just ran a gutter runner enough to get very long legs and the model doesn't change at all, which has me feeling rather gipped.

Everything south of what you know. Every space beyond your maps. From beyond the Dark Lands, the unknown continents, the southern wastes, the places dreamed of. Where gold dust lays in all the streets, for the blood and bile keeps it there.

The Southern Chaos Pact comes. To play your silly little game. With "honour" and "rules" and "positions". The most reliable lineman we have, with the will to become anything. The keenest throwers and catchers, blessed from the Arks. The slipperiest little fuckers you've ever not seen as well. And a tail? We've got a few. Armoured and fast and strong. Even giant beasts that Khorne would be proud of flock to our party and games.

The Chaos Pact will come. Just for some beer and some coin and for laughs. Get one up ya! Your wife did. Now she walks like a southern woman too!

(so yeah, I see Chaos Pact as South African/Aussie/Kiwi rugby going north to play Blood Bowl. I'd actually like it if they nicked this idea. It works. No-one is from anywhere specific, just that southern bit of the Warhammer world. Where they obviously play a different game to pass the time. Look at their bloody teams for Sigmar's sake)

Quote
Mercenary teams
Teams composed of players picked from different races.
Several groups of teams you can pick your players from (i.e “Elf team” = Pro Elf, WE, HE, DE).
These teams will also have a specific tag – they won’t be allowed in Champion Ladder for example.

Yawn. You wanna mix n' match? There you go.
Then your chaos pact can fight my nagash pact.

No. Chaos Pact is an actual fucking team. In Blood Bowl (the actual fucking edition). That isn't in BB2 yet. Because they're retardedly slow at adding stuff to their game. Stuff that's in the game that their game is based off. Like, the real Blood Bowl.

Fucking Tournament Edition if you'd like. It's been around for years.

I think it'll be pretty sad if the only change needed for LRB7 is adding "and Kislev" to the Slann team roster page. Maybe with an addendum that says: These positions can be renamed on a Kislev roster as such:......
I hope Kislev is more than that. Including "totally original" Star Players. But it'll be shite if that's all it is. Re-fluff bleh.

I'd be up for a Bay12 league if there's any interest.
Despite my lack of skill at the game, I'd be up for a league.

You are seriously underestimating the effort and money it takes to create new models, textures and animations, plus coding. Game development is not easy, and you don't just put on your wizard hat, say the magic words, and suddenly you have new content.

Agreed.
I'd rather them take it slow and release units which have their own animations instead of being sad reskins.

Meanwhile...
LRB7
You seem to have a lot of faith in Cyanide affecting the development of blood bowl.
This is despite the fact that GW has already rebooted it, nixxed piling on and ignored the pricing changes on orc blitzers and armor changes on human catchers.

I daresay new rules for bloodbowl will happen based entirely on how popular the tabletop is, and that GW will completely ignore anything outside of their own development team.

By the way, this entire conversation has been me referencing slann stuff which a non-LRB player would have no idea about. The patronising attitude is a bit shit.
I'm aware that team exists. At least they actually MIGHT be cobbled together using the mercenary system. I don't see any khorne players chucking a hissy.

@Teneb My thread. Over 1 1/2 years later. Still just releasing "some teams". It'll be almost as fully featured as Blood Bowl 1 soon!

And yes. I do understand such things. I don't believe that excuses them in this case. Not second time running.

They know what "Blood Bowl" entails on models, sounds, music, ruleset, other assets and programming. It's a big job, and there's no doubt BB2 is better done than BB1 in professional AAA standards. But a year is a fucking long time to not even have the base gameset that your product is based on in your "proper" release. Especially as a studio that's kind of done this before. Almost exactly in the same way.

So meh. My thread, my opinion. For whatever that's worth. Kind of what forums are about. Pulling magic wands from our opinions and waving them around concertedly. Valid opinion or not, the choice is yours.

@Tack. Look, I just like saying fuck in text and don't get much of a chance to. If it's GW related, all the better.

OP though you are, the right to answer makes us equal, so I'll claim it.

They released a bunch of teams free and the graphics are way better than BB1 so I can understand it taking longer, especially if they're working in a budget due to it being a pretty niche game.
You realize how intense a development period would be required to have EVERY team at launch? There's no way they'd recoup those losses.
SEGA has said the same thing about developing TW:W - the DLC team is literally paid using nothing but DLC profits.
No DLC, no development, and you can go play BB1.

Well that's how it was put to us by the CA people.
It could be an alternative truth, or I could've misinterpreted it. But I'd like to think that's how it works. They don't have enough money or manpower to make a full game with modern super-expensive graphics so they release DLC.

So I just checked that the original Blood Bowl was out in '09 and Chaos Edition came out in '12, so isn't that 3 years of development from the first product to the full product? Seems like they might be on track with BB2.

Also, whether you've done similar art assets before or not has negligible impact on making higher fidelity ones. That's true for texturing, models, rigging, animation, etc. And even if it's faster 'cause you've done it before, it's longer cause it's higher fidelity, so at best it evens out.

I mean, I don't like that I need to pay for extra teams, but if the previous business model stopped working, or this business model ends up benefiting developers (not publishers or corporations, but the people actually developing the game), then I don't mind it. I might not buy more DLC, but I don't mind it.

They're doing similar things with flight sims these days. Base game gets you a handful of planes. If you want more, you buy DLC. Keeps flight sim devs in business. I buy a new plane or DLC very rarely, and only on sale, 'cause that's what it's worth it to me.
