Giichi had been about to speak up in response to Sota's question when Leonhard's words had caught him off guard.

"Being able to talk so casually about death, and people killing each other... you realize how messed up you sound, right?"

He looks over at Sota.

"Anyway, I'm the Ultimate Boxer. The only things in my luggage are my clothes and a pair of boxing gloves."

"A massacre would be the one killing many. Monobadger has murdered just...what, out of us, four? We will be killing each other, in days to come. It will be necessity, to live as long as we can...it would be better for everyone, and for drama, if we were to pull out the intervests into the murders. After all...he will not let the play end early. Whoever kills will be found out. And they will die. And then we will live a little longer for it. If we can keep it as infrequent as possible...then maybe we will survive some months here."

He shrugs. There's not much hope in him, apparently. Or at least, in his demeanor. Who knows how he really feels.

He does raise an eyebrow at Mark, though.

"As was Hamlet, and Macbeth, and Romeo and Juliet, and a hundred thousand other performances you've likely never heard. Unless you have revealed a way to escape or get help that wouldn't get us killed all the sooner...I suggest you rehearse your lines."

That last was probably just for dramatic effect and making a point. Probably.
"Yes I have heard of those plays and I will not kill anyone!

Second stage of grief. Denial.

Richard then looks at the psychologist. "Isn't that the first stage of grief?"

Shock typically comes before denial, but they do get lumped into one stage spending on if you're following the 5 stage or 7 stage system. John hike's his glasses up his nose and they flash dramatically.

Upon hearing Leonard speak, Sota's expression changed to a scowl.

Quote
"I...I will not survive. My part is not that of protagonist, I am sure. But whoever does...I would enjoy them to make sure this script gets published. That our story is told. Even if only in jest...it would be nice to know that someone will remember us, somewhere, when we all have spears embedded in our skulls."
"You've already given up?  Are you even going to try to survive this?"

This idea of accepting death was toxic to Sota.  It was the opposite of everything he stood for.  Even though Sota didn't care about this guy in the slightest, just hearing him speak like this was enough to make Sota's blood boil.  Against Sota's better judgement, he continued speaking, with a hint of anger in his voice.

Quote
"There is no need to be impolite, madame. You are likely to survive until at least the fourth act, anyway. But I spoke with Monobadger, and as I say, he does this for his fun. I have even been making a script of it. No better inspiration than reality, in the end."
"So you've been talking privately with the badger?  What, are you two friends now?  Giving him tips on how to make this whole "game" more entertaining?  Is that your strategy? To become Monobadger's best friend in the hopes that he'll spare you?"

This one's already up to anger. I knew he was some sort of hard core ultimate. Advanced coping mechanisms, well trained mental focus, an unwavering goal, and anger at giving up. If I didn't know better I would say that he's either the ultimate paranoid or the ultimate bunker builder. *glasses flash*

Leonhard replied to Giichi with a non-chalant tone of voice. It wouldn't do to worry them over much.

"Oh it is entirely conceivable I am somewhat insane. Madness is a common element in theater, and after having watched what we have...well, who should blame me for breaking a little?" He shrugs, hands out in a 'what can you do?' gesture.

When Sota decided to start flinging accusations willy nilly like a spurned diva, it was likely that only Mark would be able to hear the annoyance in Leonhard's voice, and even then only barely.

"I have not given up. The show is not over, and until it is, I will play my part. Would you rather I attempt to kill the ones of us?"

He sighs and shakes his head, finally moving to lean against a wall.

"When the final curtain call is had, I will not be there to take my bow. But I will ensure that whoever is left...well."

He smiles. It is not a happy smile. But it is a determined one.

"Monobadger will not be so pleased with the epilogue, I think....and no, I was not trying to tell him how to direct this play. I had some questions for him, is all."

Finally, he looks to the psychologist. In his face, there could be nothing read, save a quiet, bemused curiosity, plain for all to see. Which said something in and of itself... "Tell me, then, Ultimate Psychologist. What is your prescription for me?"

There's a wonderful short play entitled Jimmy the Anti-Christ, reexamine King Lear, determine which character from Much Ado About Nothing you are. John just sort of stares at him. then mumbles something about benzodiazepines under his breath.

This guy is crazy, Sato thinks to himself.  I don't have time for any more of this.  Night time is approaching.  I still need to check the shed to see if anything is missing.  It's not safe for me to travel alone, but I'll have to take my chances.  It will only become more dangerous as the days pass....

Sato regains some of his composure before impatiently saying to Leonard:
"Fine, whatever.  I've got somewhere I need to be.  Have fun in your fantasy world."

Sato then walks away from everyone, heading in the direction of the Shed.

Giichi calls out after Sato.

"Hold up, are you really gonna just run off on your own when there's an attempted murderer around? Shouldn't we all stick together in case they decide to make another attempt?"

Without turning around, Sato yells back:

"I'll be fine. Don't worry about me. I can take care of myself."

Sato continues walking, ignoring anyone else who attempts to talk to him.

"'Twould be so convenient if he were one of the first murderers...but no. I find it unlikely. Doesn't suit the plotline."
