Sato dropped the fake smile, resuming his regular serious expression.  So every potential culprit has an alibi.  There could be another possibility....

Sato spoke up, saying to everyone nearby:

"Maybe he was attacked by someone wearing a disguise.  Is there any Ultimate here who might have access to a blond wig?"
