"Yep, that's definitely an evil space virus. I wonder if our powers will work against it?"

Proceed after the monster. When it's in sight, attempt to weigh it to the ground to immobilize it.

"Yep. Better kill it just to be sure."

Take aim at it with the rifle, then fire after Newton tries immobilization.

"Ok, I now know I can use my power on multiple targets at the same time, including even myself.  That could be useful, right Jon?"

Ok, now for phase two of experimentation.  Focus on a single animal and attempt to decrease both its sense of smell and its sense of hearing to 95%.  If successful, attempt to decrease both senses to 10%.  If still successful, attempt to keep the animal's sense of hearing at 10%, but amplify its sense of smell to 200%.  Observe the results.  This time, if I start to feel tired, continue on regardless.  Knowing the side effects of overstretching myself would be good to know, and this is a pretty safe place to find out.

Jon Goldbloom Action:
Continue watching Phil.  If he collapses or starts suffering horrible side effects, then rush back to our supplies and grab first aid equipment.  Try to apply first aid to Phil.

((I know I'm hogging Jon, but I will finish my experimentation this turn and won't need him after that.  He'll be available to whoever wants to submit actions for him afterward))

Build a nuclear powered hover truck to carry all our stuff! Perhaps employ maneuvering thrusters for additional boost. Then load everything I possibly can on it.

I'm adding two more people in. Initially, they will be in a separate location from the main group. This is mainly because I realized it will be longer than I thought until you reach the mentioned prison. I wanted to get some people playing, as they have been waiting for some time.

I messaged NAV about playing, and didn't get a response. So, that's why I skipped him on the waitlist.

Intro for Conein/Melkas and The Moonlit Shadow/Talisman:

You have been traveling for a long time, and it has not been an enjoyable experience. First, you were kidnapped, by who, you have no idea. They put you on a ship and traveled for some time, the harmonic ring of a warp drive echoing through the ship. The entire time you were bound, blindfolded, and gagged. Sometimes stuffed in a storage container. Eventually, you went down to a planet on a shuttle, and were transported through what seemed like a military base. You assume so from all the "Yes sirs" and other military jargon.

Then, they loaded you into a shuttle, one had said to put two to a shuttle, for safety they said. You hadn't seen any others being blindfolded, but, you assumed there were others, based on the breathing, and muffled screaming. Once on the shuttle they took your blindfolds off. There was only one guard, and a pilot on the shuttle. You two were the only prisoners on it. The shuttle had windows, but, they had been covered with armored shutters, and the cockpit of the shuttle had it's metal door closed. About the hour through the trip, the guard fell asleep, drooling all over himself. You both formulated a plan quietly, unbound yourselfs, and attacked.

You tried to hold the pilot hostage once the guard was dead, but he refused to fly you around, shooting at you both, the ensuing conflict damaged the shuttle, sending it plummeting into the ground.

You both managed to survive with some large cuts and bruises. The pilot is dead, and the shuttle destroyed. You are in a hot grassland, the planets star is straight overhead and you already want an air conditioner. There are the beginnings of a desert to the west, and what looks like a small city far to the east, nestled against the mountains. You think it's about 50 miles away, but the land is so flat that you can see it from here.

You both grab a gauss pistol with 15 rounds from the dead people on the shuttles. You should get moving, they might come and look for you.

You three manage to track the thing down, it is up in a tree, hissing at you, walking along the upright trunk of the tree as if it was flat ground.

Newton manages to slam the thing into the ground and hold it there, while Fridge unloads a several rounds into it. The thing screeches and squirms, then stops moving. You see a dead squirrel near it, it has not been bitten, but it has a puncture wound, seemingly from the things stinger tail. It's flesh has turned partially black, just like the creatures.

Ed sniffs the things briefly, then jumps back. He gives it a death stare from a distance.

You both hear a voice in your head "I.. I.. think I can finally speak with you... I do not like the smell of that thing... I may not speak often, as speaking with you new to me, and fairly taxing..."

You are completely sucessful, and find yourself breathing heavily, with sweat beading up on your forehead. Things like that will happen first. If you keep going further, you would get something like a bloody nose perhaps. If you push your powers too far, that's when I do a roll. The roll could be anywhere from a bloody nose, to death. Higher numbers being worse.

Build a nuclear powered hover truck to carry all our stuff! Perhaps employ maneuvering thrusters for additional boost. Then load everything I possibly can on it.

Hmm...  you want to make a nuclear reactor for that then. This thing will probably need to be pushed, as the thrusters can only last so long. It will be very taxing to create as it's fairly complex.

[1] Roll for power strain. Lower is better.

You finish it, crying heavily for your poor laws. You feel a sharp pain in your right hand. Large blisters are covering it.

"I knew you'd start talking at some point, magic dog. Turns out all it took was killing a demon leg."

Shoot the squirrel for good measure.

Newton glances at Fridge and nods thoughtfully, then shoots the squirrel and the former leg as well. HE then uses the animal control pole to grab bot creatures (dragging one with it to the toher first, if necessary), getting the loop around both.

"I kinda figured we'd need to plug him into a terminal somewhere and communicate through electronics, myself. Let's burn these things. No telling if that black gunk is still alive in there. Think there are others? Ugh, i just realized, I pulled some of that goo out of the Professor while on ship." Newton looks darkly at the bright sky for a moment. "I don't think it demonstrated any life while we were up there, though. I don't know, it's been a rough day.

Oh, we better not burn them in the daylight though - the smoke will be a dead giveaway that someone is out here. Damn! waiting until nightfall seems like a bad idea, too."

collect enough wood for a corpse burning fire, and move it into the nearest clearing, off the crown of the hill, while at least one of us remains guarding the creature at all times. Inspect the squirrel and the legbeast occasionally for signs of change. At any sign of change, concentrate on the creatures and use gravity to crush them.

((can we get a player list in the OP? Name, power and skills is enough, no need to trawl through their backstories and whatnot.))

"Y'know, there's kind of a strait between us and the nearest civilization. I wouldn't worry so much about detection," PFC Fridge points out. "What I would worry about is evil magic smoke, though. That could fuck us up, you never know."

Follow Newton's lead, but make sure to keep a very respectable distance from the fire.

"Yeah. But, I think it shouldn't be a problem. We managed to kill this thing with bullets, so as long as we stay upwind, we should be fine. I doubt the smoke will take on a life of it's own. It looks like it needs a living host, or flesh as material to work on. Well, if the fire works, we'll be out of the area before long anyway, and someone probably knows we survived up there, so it's not like we'll be giving much away."

Ah, sorry. You made the entire thing.

((can we get a player list in the OP? Name, power and skills is enough, no need to trawl through their backstories and whatnot.))

Yeah, I'll make one for you all.

Ed telepathically speaks with Fridge and Newton "I have been trying to communicate with you all this whole time... it's much easier to do this with my brothers and sisters... humans are much different... I wonder if it stung anything other than the squirrel... that we did not see..."
