"I still got it," says PFC Fridge, reminiscing about days spent in military simulators.

Since the other shuttle (bound for engineering) still ought to be arriving, I'm probably still able to shoot that one as well, right?

If so, shoot that one as well. Perforate those fuckers good.

If not, check if theoretically I could get hit with the blast doors if they fly my way. Strictly hypothetically a blast door should be pretty good against blasts, but who knows?

(Newton already blew up the other one.  He used his powers to make the engine explode, I think)

"If any of you want one of your senses boosted for a few moments, let me know."

Additional Action:  If Jon is unable to access atmospheric controls from his console, then I will check them for him.  If anyone requests for one of their senses to be boosted, amplify that sense to 200%..

Persuade the captain again.
How did you want to go about persuading him? Through what you had said to him, or through other means?
((By raising doubt if his colleques on the planet/responsible of our capture will let him live, if he wants to live, his desire to see friends/family and such again, promise to protect him at our best abiliy. Being very friendly and compassionate about this.
If it all fails, then threaten to rip his balls out.))

Newton stares at the screen for a minute, watching somberly as three shuttles full of what used to be people drifted in space. He turns back to the bridge, and sees that the unknown man is being addressed, the people in the hall are being handled, and the computers are being manned.
"I'm getting angry. Someone, please keep trying to find what Ed needs in order to connect. Fridge, I think you and I are goingto have to clear the ship. Professor, lend us your bot there. Keep in touch with us, and keep an eye on the screens. we don't want to be here if thehy launch something more destructive than that at us."

Examine the screen what kind of world is it? How much civilization is apparent on it? What kind o space traffic is noticeable?

Next, walk to the door, and gravity pull all the men on the other side into the door. I they are willing, take ridge and the bot and proceed through the ship, top down, clearing any enemies left. Bring Ed i nothing can be done for him on the bridge.

(if anyone wants boosted sight or hearing for their actions, just have your character ask.  I'm pretty sure Phil mentioned earlier that he can affect people's senses.  I'll edit my last post accordingly)

" Nicely done everyone!  Now we've got some options.  We could even consider taking over the ship entirely."

Check if my console can tell me how many clones are still on board this ship.  Also check the minimum number of people required to fully operate this vessel.

(If someone else wants a turn to give Jon an action, feel free to)

Absolute minimum would be 5 to 10 people, but, with only 5 it wouldn't run as well as it might with more people. Mainly, the difficulty would be when you have an emergency and multiple issues need to handled at once. It would be much easier if you had more people to divy out to each issue.

You can't tell how many are on the ship, but, you think that there are at least 20 more left, as it was earlier ordered that four men move to each level and search, and you all killed the four sent to the medbay.

"You could just drain atmosphere outside of this room and be done with distractions."

"Now, my good captain, THAT was a poor decision. Surely you have family, loved ones, parents or friends you want to see again? We are not into murdering restrained men (at least I'm not). So please tell us a bit more of this whole kidnapping thing."

Persuade the captain again.
Use his ID card to disable consoles everywhere else in the ship.

You disable consoles shipwide, we'll assume that you kept the ones in the bridge online for now so you all may use them.

The Captain sits quietly for a bit, seemingly weighing his decision of whether or not to talk. He sighs deeply and says: "Fine... I would like to live to see my children again, I never agreed with this plan anyways. People like you..." he nods his head at all of you "...are a fairly recent occurence. As far as we can tell, when most people are exposed to some of the materials used in the construction of warp drives, they either get very sick, or die. But, in very rare situations, some gain powers, such as yours. We hardly understand everything that is happening within the warp drives, and new exotic materials are being created all the time, leading to more mysteries. You were all captured for several reasons. Some of you, are experimented on. They wanted to try something different for you all, they wanted to test how feasible it would be to have people like you in the military, to test your true capabilities. I'm not even sure if this is a test anymore though, they never expected you to get this far".

He pauses for a moment, and says "Also, this is the Federation who we are talking about here... they just ensured that the project was hidden, in order to avoid questions of morality from the public. That's also part of the reason why they are using the clones, not to mention that they won't bat an eye at an order to kill any of you. These clones are a joke compared to some other versions they have though, much less capable".

"I still got it," says PFC Fridge, reminiscing about days spent in military simulators.

Check if theoretically I could get hit with the blast doors if they fly my way. Strictly hypothetically a blast door should be pretty good against blasts, but who knows?

Also, see if I can make the tools of the people on the other side of the blast door telekinetically malfunction. Try to locate the noisiest tool (should be simple enough, judging by where the noise is coming from) and send it spinning around and hurting people.

Action for Jon: check if atmosphere can be selectively vented on the ship. Specifically, whether it can be vented everywhere except on the bridge and the shuttle/escape pod bay. DON'T VENT ANYTHING YET.

Well, if it exploded, the whole door probably would come at you, a hole would get blown into it and shrapnel would spew around. That said, if you all get hit by shrapnel is mostly based on luck, mean a die roll, since it can bounce around and such. You'd get a bonus if you were in cover before the explosion. Cover wise, there are metal half-walls and such in various places on the bridge, especially around the consoles.

You do so, and hear some muffled screaming. All the tools stop.

It's possible, but some areas are connected and must be vented as one (so you can't just vent the area outside of the Bridge, you'd have to vent the entire bridge), and there are usually some emergency suits and oxygen tanks all over ships, so some people might survive.

It's a planet that appears similar to Earth. It has a variety of biomes. You find some info on a console. The planet has around 33 million citizens, and a moderately sized military garrison. There are around 7 main cities, 5 of them on a particularly fertile looking norther coast of a continent. An area with temperature deciduous forests. They sent Earth plants and trees and had them robotically placed in that area half a century before arriving. Replacing the local vegetation with our own just in case the local flora wasn't compatible with Earth biology.

The other two cities are a bit to the south encroaching upon some mountains, and the transition area between some plains and a desert. Probably extracting valuable minerals from the mountains and desert.

The cities have a decent transportation system between themselves, various roads, and trains. Several of them have spaceports. You see a freighter gliding into the planets atmosphere, and several civilian passenger transports flying about.

Edit: It is currently night time over the cities, the ship orbiting above, and you can see them faintly because of their lights.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

Are you sure that you are all ready to open the blast door? As Phil determined, there are probably at least 20 more clones remaining, and they probably have better weapons that just pistols now. If anyone remembers the crate Jon found earlier containing weaponry, theres a good chance that they know about that and armed themselves.

"Well, that probably gave them something to think about. Ought to be more difficult for them to insert charges properly now, and I bet the blast door can take the basic stuff perfectly well. Ain't that right, Cap'n?"

See if we've got security camera access on the bridge. Also keep an eye out for more approaching shuttles.

Action for Jon: Check if there's enough emergency suits and oxygen tanks over here on the bridge for everyone (optionally the Captain as well). Check if Ed understands how to operate an emergency suit.

The professor places his hand on the captain's shoulder and says as sincerely as he possibly can: "You are a good man, captain. In wrong place. I pray you can see your children again in good health. Thank you. And while we are being honest, could you command the clones to stay down or can we do it?"

More persuasion.

((Check if there's a suit for golem too. I don't mind losing it but it would be nice if it survived.))

(my action was to grav spike anyone let alive in the hall outside the  bridge. I can wait until the captain their decides whether to order them to stand down first, though.)

Use my "gravity sense" to reach out and feel the location of moving objects of roughly man size or greater, as far throughout the ship as I can. (distance isn't a problem, but power and focus might limit me to a smaller area).

Check if my console allows ship wide communication, such that someone could use it to communicate with the clones on the ship.  Also check if the console provides any information regarding the procedures necessary for landing the ship back on the planet nearby.

"I can try, but they will probably not stand down now, too many of their own have been killed by you all, and they had previously recieved those orders to kill any intruders from someone much higher up than I."

[1]

He pushes his wrist against the chair, seemingly activating an implanted communication device and speaks aloud, asking the clones to stand down repeatedly, you all hear it in the radios you took of the dead clones. They have a lively discussion, and collectively decide not to surrender, figuring he is saying this just to save himself.

Your golem could surive for a while without a suit as long as you all don't plan on doing a space walk, just give it an oxygen tank and mask, it's a bit more resilient than humans are, cold wise.

"Well, that probably gave them something to think about. Ought to be more difficult for them to insert charges properly now, and I bet the blast door can take the basic stuff perfectly well. Ain't that right, Cap'n?"

Yes, you can see the clones working on the outside of the bridge after searching around a bit on the computers. Some seem to be having a lively discussion, while others bring various metal crates and containers into the room, an almost empty one contains a few gauss rifles. Newton coordinates with the camera view, and attacks the men, four seemingly dead, two injured, the others scattered about.

Jon Goldbloom action:
You search around a bit, and find that there are sufficient suits for you all including the captain, Ed seems to understand how to get into the suits.

Ah, I should have at least of had you do that. The main piece that I was concerned with was the second part, which would have required you to open the blast door:

Quote
If they are willing, take Fridge and the bot and proceed through the ship, top down, clearing any enemies left. Bring Ed if nothing can be done for him on the bridge.

[3]

You try to do the same as before, but have trouble discerning between different objects, as if you as gazing through a clouded up window.

Assuming that you want to attack since the captain could not get them to stand down.

[3+1] Most power use will now roll for effectiveness. I'll update the main post to reflect this change. This was a seperate roll from the last. This has a bonus as we can assume that Fridge coordinated with you since he can see the outside room with the security cameras.

You try to move the men, but again have trouble finding them and discerning the differences between different objects. You glance at a display from a security camera in the next room, and try again. You slam a few men into walls, and a storage crate into the ceiling. Four of the men aren't moving, and two are badly wounded, but crawling away. Some of the un-injured have retreated towards the rooms entrance near the elevator, others risk movement towards the bridge.

You are soaked in sweat, that was tiring, but you could probably do the equivalent again and be fine (Just very strained).

Check if my console allows ship wide communication, such that someone could use it to communicate with the clones on the ship.  Also check if the console provides any information regarding the procedures necessary for landing the ship back on the planet nearby.

Yes, you can use the PA system to do so, which just uses a collection of ceiling mounted speakers to communicate shipwide. You also all have the radios that you took off some of the dead clones in medbay. The Captain seems to have some communications implant which he tries to use to get the clones to stand down and fails.

You find a long list that details the various things that must be done before landing. What it doesn't mention is exactly how, you need someone who skilled in the flight in these ships to land it, otherwise there is a good chance that you would all die (several rolls, possibly on a die weighted towards the bad numbers slightly). I don't believe that any of you have any skill in flight, but I would have to double check that. There is always the captain though if you can convince him.

Several other issues with landing on the planet. You only have manuevering thrusters, making this much more difficult. The main engine isn't attached, it's just floating outside the ship, tethered by temporary supports to it, so getting off the planet might not be easy, unless you can find and install one there. You'll also draw a whole lot of attention landing this vessel, it's fairly large, and the landing won't be soft.
______________________________________________________________________________________________

I had asked this towards the beggining of the game when an opinion probably could not have been formed yet. But now since we have been playing for some time. What are your thoughts on the game? Any criticism or suggestions for me? I'd like to know since this is my first RTD.

((I like that we're getting somewhere. That's a rare trait in an RTD.))

"Oh! Here's an idea!"

Using the security camera to coordinate, lift a loaded-looking gauss rifle on the other side and shoot some of the scattered people with it.

((I like it well enough. I feel that the initial selection of skills [not the magic, but the other three] might have been a little open ended, but that's fine. It leaves us without everything we need to survive alone in the universe, which forces us to think and act creatively, I think.))

(Harry, you should lift a weapon from one o the clones instead of the box. the box ones might not be loaded)

"Think I'm getting the hang of this. Professor, you think that's a good idea? Fridge, if we open the door, I'll want to concentrate on using a weapon instead of my skills. that last effort tired me pretty good. I can go again, but I'd like a little time to recharge."

If we open the door, take cover first to the side, near the hallway to the escape pods and ready a weapon. Fire on targets o opportunity or anything that gets past the bot and golem.

If we don't open the door, check on the professor's leg. Use antiseptics, anything in the medkit that draws stuff out o wounds, and a knife and/or syringe to get as much of the black crud out as I can, clean the wound with a clean clothe, and rewrap it with fresh bandages.
