As for how it ran out of fuel, I bring up that thirteen fuel cells will last Sepia 29 years of fuel and need about a month to recharge if the place she is gathering from is not deuterium rich water.

I think Smurf's point was "How has Sepia run out of fuel if she had 29 years to get more fuel?".

Isn't Sepia an escape shuttle or did I miss something? Can't we just say that she runs off of antimatter because of its high efficency, but only has enough fuel to reach the nearest planet because it's an escape shuttle? Which is why it has the ability to construct bunkers and the like to keep its crew alive until help arrives. To me that makes a thousand times more sense and would prevent any more aneurysms from occuring.
