Not included, but if/when I add them I'll rebalance the price of goods to watch up with the wage increases.  Still need to decide whether to make a distinction between slums (for slaves), insulae (for plebs) and villas (for nobles/equites), or just to do a catch-all 'housing' holding.

Thoughts on that would be welcome.

Edit:  If anyone knows a way to share information between separate Google spreadsheets (rather than tabs on the same sheet), I could set up a public doc for people to look at.  Right now I can't, as the master spreadsheet has a lot of stuff that players shouldn't know directly mixed in with the stuff they can.

Ah, I was afraid that something has gone amiss or that I overlooked them. As far as the game is concerned, I am not overly desperate to have those, rents tend to encourage passivity, while market fluidity keeps everyone on their toes.

E: I know that you can share data between Excel documents, that's how I have it organized at work, but I suppose similar functionality could be present in Drive. I'll look into it for you.

Well, we already have a "safe and boring" holding in the farm, so I dont think itd change much.

Thanks to Ardas for this.  Here's the beta version of the Public Doc, which I'll copy into the OP.  For now you can use it to check the current market prices abroad and internally, as well as general tarriffs, shipping costs and how much custom you need to break even, as well as maximum profits and average profits.

I didn't put them in the post, but I rolled dice for the shot (70%), Stonetree's survival (40%) and the capture of the assassin (50%).  Needless to say, the first two rolls failed (or succeeded, depending on your perspective).

It would've been an interesting affair if the Centuria caught the assassin. Who killed him is not important, but who's denarii would be found in the killer's purse, is.

Also, I think a lot of the current towers are actually fairly interesting characters, and it'll be a shame as they're slowly killed off.

So what does this mean for poor house Stonetree?

The Tower Stonetree's heir (who Ghaz can introduce) takes over, and he loses about 20-25% of his assets to complicated 'inheritance' amongst the other members of his family.  I wanted a penalty for dying, but not a completely crippling one - just something that can throw spanners in works every now and again.

What is the legal precedence on killing a Tower?

That's really not a huge penalty. Not really worth the trouble of killing someone. :p

There's also the political cost, though. You lose any positions you held if you were a Crown, of course, but you're also playing a different character, who's likely to be less trusted and respected by the other towers, etc.

Plus, 25% isn't huge, but it's definitely a spanner in the works, as Iituem said.

Shit.  And it wasn't even me.
Question: if we catch the killer (or a killer somewhere down the line) what happens to them and their employer?
