I was amused because I read "A Giant Hat Appeared!" and was excited for this probably-modded giant hat enemy :/
But yeah, Toady has said he's working on the passing out thing (and dwarven OP in general) because it's getting silly. Tons of people have been asking why a Giant who is "unparalleled in size" can give into pain after a small fracture.

A giant giving in to pain is more normal than an axedwarf with an iron war hammer. :D

I had a friend who shattered his wrist and broke several bones in his arms stand up and keep walking. Sure, he was in pain, but he wasn't going to pass out.

Semimegabeasts have been very weak since quite a bit of time. Maybe 40d, though I don't remember how strong giants were in 40d.

I'm more amazed by the dwarf being able to hit the giant in the neck with his hammer, and even more more amazed (?!) by the war dog shaking the giant around by its head.  How big is that dog?

He's now "Giant Smasher" Bsolnb, competent "axe" dwarf. Still using the hammer.

I forgot to mention! At the end of the fight my lasher "Shem the Whipper" came up and 1-shotted the things head into an exploding mess of gore with an iron whip. G.S promptly threw his 'axe' at him for kill-stealing the coolest thing anyone's killed in the fort besides some mole dogs.
