HugoLuman hears this from near the doorway of the other room, where people are gathering to get in on the XP. "Wait, what?"

[Arcvasti]

The other homo-sapiens-leg-walker is trying to touch Arcvasti. Arcvasti bats at his hand. No, distraction. Ensure safeness of sketch. Focusing intensely on past memories of being one of Them seemed to help drive the warm-soft-blur away. Once sketch is safe... Arcvasti couldn't remember what Arcvasti was trying to do. Get cat ears. Now Arcvasti has cat ears. After that... Many of Them were in the other room and Arcvasti had thought they'd heard buzz-sweet-crunches from there. Arcvasti had never liked being with too many of Them, even when Arcvasti WAS Them. Perhaps Arcvasti would be better off somewhere else. The glow-think-word-thing wanted authorization. Arcvasti would give it authorization, obtain animal ears and also paw-touch-things and, most of all, clarity. Clarity. Arcvasti liked that word. It had repurcussions, deep memories. Memories of warmth and tears. Most of all, memories of being Them. Arcvasti continues clawing at the safe-pouch-place where the sketch is stored.

[McDonald]

"Arc turned himself into a kitty. Uh, do you know why did he do that? He really wants something from his pants' pocket."

[Arcvasti]

The mouth-noises continued. Arcvasti tried to understand them. The cat ears seemed to hear them fine, unlike their new eyes and the word-mark-shapes. Decoding the think-words behind the sounds was harder, but possible. Arcvasti tried to make a yes-head-gesture at They who was making the mouth-noises while still scratching at the pocket. Yes, that was a pocket. The word-marks seemed able to be linked to mouth-noises, albeit only hazily.

[SeriousConcentrate]

SerCon wandered back to look at the kitty. "Hmm, I wonder..."

SerCon tries his class power on Arcvasti, just to see if it would work on a former human.

[McDonald]

McDonald reaches into the pocket Arc is scratching, finding some money and a crumpled paper.
"There's money and a paper here.", he says, unfolding the paper. "It's a drawing of a... flying girl with horns. And an eyepatch.
He shows it to Arc.

[WillowLuman]

"Arc turned himself into a kitty. Uh, do you know why did he do that? He really wants something from his pants' pocket."

"He said something about trying to obtain cat ears. Damnit, this is why we shouldn't mess around with these things." HugoLuman leans through the doorway. "Arc, can you still understand me?"

[Twinwolf]

"I am suddenly very glad I didn't mess with that thing. I can live with wolf ears and a tail."

[Arcvasti]

"Arc, can you still understand me?"

Another one of Them was in the doorway. This one was more familiar. That drape-unfur they were wearing triggered more memories. White word-shapes on blackness, blood being rubbed against white, a short-lizard-thing decapitating a bronzed one of Them, a head-bone image. This was... HugoLuman? Arcvasti once again tried to understand the mouth noises, only catching the last part. Arc... It was a word-mark-cut of Arcvasti. For some reason, Arcvasti's own word-mark was one of the few things that were clear now. Arcvasti never used to think of themselves with a word-mark. Until train-door-dwarf-place. Arcvasti tried to do the head-yes-gesture again, towards HugoLuman this time.

(Y'know, this is kind of a weird parallel here.)
(Also, my overcoat is probably awash with the odors of several cats and 2 dogs. The family pets glom onto me whenever I visit home.)

"Well, that's a relief. Do you want one of the disc things?"

[Arcvasti]

McDonald reaches into the pocket Arc is scratching, finding some money and a crumpled paper.

There. Its safe. The sketch is safe. What was Arcvasti doing? Right. Obtain authorization. Become fox-walker-Them. Then... Arcvasti couldn't remember what next. Perhaps bath? No. Focus. Clarity. Exploration. Away from so many of Them and their attendant scents. How could They stand it? Too many. Far too many. Obtain Clarity. Focus on that.

Arcvasti bounds out of the room, enjoying the thrill of bound after the hunt... Arcvasti skidded to a halt in the room over, the room which once had floor-eyes. No. There is now hunt. Arcvasti looked around. Familiar. Same but not same. Memory. Clarity. Warm-tears-loud. Here. But not here. There was not here but here is like there. Same shape, different filling. Arcvasti surveyed the open things. Could they still go through them like this? Possibly.

[McDonald]

"So he turned himself into a cat, because he wanted cat ears? Genius."
McDonald folds the drawing and puts it in his pocket.

[Twinwolf]

"Should someone give him the disc thingy?" Twin calls from the end of the newest open room.

[McDonald]

"He didn't look like he wanted it. He ran away, anyway."

[WillowLuman]

"Arc? Where are you going?" HugoLuman follows, concerned, pushing past the others in the hall. "We don't know if he's in his right mind. This could be bad." He tries not to think about the effects spider bites might have on a smaller body. "Arc, wait!"
