That's fine. Though I'm kind of leery of a positive size trait since if I want to grow larger later I'll lose that trait.

Then it will be replaced by a different trait. Should i make miniature your negative trait as well?

So are traits supposed to be something that come about as a result of this world and not exactly having to do with our animal? Or are they supposed to be reflects of the pros and cons of us picking this animal.

They can be both, as you can make your character start out mutated.

So what exactly changed about character sheets? I see you added hunger, thirst and sanity, but those are not really something that need to be in the initial sheet. And not really anything that player needs to calculate. I mean all you need from player are these:

Cybernetics: In addition to the gene/mutation route, you could also add in the technology/cyborg route to surviving in this game. They could offer some upgrades that are very similar (add X strength) and some that are very different (infaredvision). If you've ever played Cataclysm DDA, you could run it just like that game. The players find the upgrades (or cut them out of slain enemies), and then roll to install them. A high roll means a successful upgrade. A low roll could break it, a lower roll causes an unsuccessful installation/ faulty upgrade (gives player a permanent debuff), a lower roll causes damage.
You could also have a cybernetic broker install them or sell them, but for a price.

All and all it should be robotics version of the mutation system. And thus shouldn't be incredibly difficult to work out.

Genesplicing: Perhaps allow players to splice their DNA with another player or NPC to make very interesting cubs.

Radiation seems to be the main currency of the game, as far as getting upgrades go. But the only way to get it (unless there are more you haven't disclosed) is to fight monsters. Maybe add some more ways to gain currency.

Lastly, question about migration. Baboons aren't migratory, will I still lose some stats if I don't migrate my non migratory animal?

Great ideas! And you can get radiation by fighting things, including other animals, being in certain areas, levelling up, or finding certain objects. I think i will look up if any of the other animals are migratory, and make them migrate. But you may have to anyway, as i dont think baboons regularly live in downtown London.
