Search for a possible light source.

Inspecting the immediate area both just inside and outside is fruitless until you were just about to give up. A small old torch lay on the ground outside of the door. It blended in with a pile of dry shrubs. It appears the torch at one time was lit but was put out shortly after, perhaps by rain. This consequently gives it just enough of a fuel source to be maybe catch. An inspection of the shrubs also reveals a small piece of magnesium.
Pick up the torch, adn take the magnesium. Gather the dry shrubs for later fuel. Light the torch and explore the cellae.

And away you go into the cellar now with better lighting. The area to the back seems almost bereft of anything interesting. However the left corner reveals an old, slightly crumpled, folded paper.

Investigate the paper.

The paper turns out to be an old letter to a friend. Much of it is unreadable due to the ravishes of time. The only usable info on this paper is that to the south east lays a village that was able to stay out of the war that ruined the area you are now standing in.

(That is correct, all of what you encountered was rolled). You search every nook and cranny but nothing else is revealed.

So, all spells are combat oriented? There aren't any utility spells (mage hand, conjure food, fabricate, etc.)?

Seriously, ATHATH, we need to have an intervention about your death mug problem.

((Oh, cool.)) Leave the cellar and head to the town mentioned in the letter.

Not yet, but there are some planned. This game is in its infancy. I have VERY much in store for later versions. Most likely when I introduce jewelry, I will allow it to be studded like armor and weapons and what can be learned from them is spells and abilities that are to be used outside of battle. Now that I think about it, heal spells can be used outside of battle.

You walk south of the cellar for half a kilometer and find next to crumbled building another cellar with a thicker looking door, but missing a hinge. Despite this it appears that it is more than able to be opened should you wish it.

Open the door.

Though dimly lit, you can see that the inside travels east to another closed door.

Head to that door and open it.

This door reveals a hall continuing east and it again stops at a closed door.
