Welcome to my extremely experimental game I am currently calling:

Dice-Scape
(Title pending. Likely to change based on some ideas and player feedback)

A passable introduction to myself and my experience can be found here: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=151067.msg6264876#msg6264876

I am now ready (hopefully) for the game to be playable in its most basic form. As this community has been good to me, I figured why not let you guys suffer enjoy the fruits of my labor.

The game is set in a high fantasy world, much like that one game, um, lets see. I think dwarf fortress or something, I dunno. Anywho, The game itself is designed to be a tabletop game as playable by one person as it is by many. I am hoping it is at least enjoyable as I have put lots of work into it.

The system is of my own unique build. I allow the dice to control everything but the player(s) themselves. This ranges from the topography of the surrounding area generated, the creatures found, the towns population, shops, said shop's inventory, what can be mined in what area, what (if any) edible plants there are in an area, the loot found, if said loot is cursed, how many dwarves does it take to screw in a light bulb, and on and on and on. That doesn't even scratch the surface.

The list of items, events and what not is often quite large. To give an idea; there is around 100 different materials weapons can be made of. Of these there are 21 qualities these weapons can differ. Then there are 96 unique types of weapons. All these weapons can have "studs" in them, a few of them two. These are used to learn magic. There is over 100 distinct materials studs can be made from. Of these studs they to have qualities: 20 of them. If my calculation is correct, that is over 20,160,000 various weapons in game. Oh and there is also armor.

Explaining the game's system in detail is going to be exhausting. I feel the best way to do so is in examples:

Heres are the stats a player will need to have and a basic explanation of what they do and how they work:

So for your first run are you doing suggestion or are you doing RP? It sounded like suggestion, but I was really hoping RP.

Yeah I'd rather have a game with a few players than a suggestion game.

Sort of both, I think? I am new at this. Depending on how successful this first run goes, I am going to let everyone have at it individually, maybe on the same generated, which would make it sort of like an text mmorpg. I kind of need this first run from you guys though for few reasons. One being to get a general feel from the game from a gm standpoint for me. Another as a crash course for you players to look at. Also to iron out any kinks before hand that I have overlooked.

Got the character stats (had some interruptions. I might be a bit slow on updating for the next few hours).

Hachi Renpa, you find yourself in the town of Old Wudhurst. You are somewhat familiar with this small hamlet of just over 500 people. You were attracted here for fame and riches fortold in the surrounding lands.

The town itself was once a mighty city of over 100 thousand strong, but due to a combination of war, disease and superstition the area lay mostly in ruin and abandoned. Its sister town of Wudhursta lays to the south east, but a small inhabited stretch links the two towns together making passage to and fro safe.

New Wudhurst has since its decline little business for an adventurer such as yourself save for a Craftsmen shop.

As you are somewhat familiar to this town you know of its immediate surroundings. To the north west is a grassland, to the north is a swamp, to the north east is a forest, to the east are some ruins of the town, to the south east is the town of Wudhursta, to the south is more ruins of the city which also stretches to the south west and to the west is the waters edge of a lake.

Hachi Renpa, what will you do?

(by the way, much of the detail described above was rolled).

To speed things up this is going to be a first come first serve bases of what the player does based on suggestions, unless I got multiple in a period of about 5 minutes or so.

Speak to the townsfolk about anything that they could need doing, or anything that could hold treasure.
