Studded leather armor costs more, but because it was made that quickly, it's just about as good as leather armor. It's not even much of a gold difference.
Don't get passive aggressive over a 3 gold difference.

Tavros paid most of the money for the studs. The leather armor that Jenko sold was higher quality, so it was the same DR as the one Tavros made.
