I travel halfway across the world to get to the tower. It takes a week, but would have taken longer had I not traveled along the spine of the continent, avoiding rivers.
Upon reaching the tower, I am surprised to see a necromancer run out of the doors. I tackle him and he tells me in a panic that all the other necromancers went to reclaim a town.
I give him the chance to join me, but he refuses.
I enter the tower. The zombies ignore another servant of Nasnok. I examine the books, taking two about Nasnok. I climb to the top room. I take the slab. I read the slab.
That's not complicated at all. I do half of this stuff on a daily basis.
Nasnok told me to leave nothing alive. I kill every zombie in the tower one by one. I set off for Paddedwatchful, stopping at a dark fortress to kill the resident demon. It is weak and dies quickly. ((Only blunt weapons can kill demons, as edged weapons can't penetrate their thick clothes.)) I grab a sip of goblin blood on the way out.
I arrive at Paddedwatchful. There are more necromancers here than I thought. Every house is full of zombies and necromancers. I give every necromancer the chance to join me. Every one refuses. I leave none alive. My work here is done.
I travel north, stopping by a town to visit the catacombs. I raise every skeleton there. My army kills everyone in the town. I move on to the next hamlet over. My skeletons kill everyone there. But there they are again, still living. I kill everyone again. They do not stay dead. This town is cursed. I move on.
I encounter several more towns like this. It does no good to kill the undying, and they damage my skeletons in the process. But my path of blood continues largely unhindered. Eventually my army dwindles - skeletons do not leave corpses in raising condition. I slash the throats of a few bandits and raise them. I continue to prey on travelers and villages, but the larger my army grows, the harder it becomes to continue growing it. My undead hounds chase down anything that breathes and leave nothing but blood and mangled remains.
One lone swordsman, however, is ignored by my zombies. I strike up a conversation and find that he is a vampire like me. He joins me. He doesn't like to kill, usually sticking with me when I let the hounds run. He tells me about great beasts, alligators, vampires, and such. In return I raid a tomb with him and get him some nice armor and a good sword and shield.
SAVE:
http://dffd.bay12games.com/file.php?id=11129I just got bored. Ona is too powerful. Go kill some megabeasts and get good corpses. Drink blood in public to get people mad at you, it's easier than slaughtering everyone one by one. Don't kill our vampire buddy, he's a good source of info. Praise Nasnok!
