Hopefully, these are Charioteer Dreadnoughts - you can't be that far ahead of the rest of us, surely.


Also, I was thinking - would you all agree on an ad-hoc rule limiting the amount of gen.assassins one can have, to offset their overpowered status? Something like: never more than 1-2 per lab owned, or some other limiting formula.
I just don't want to see that future Margrave prophesied, where every land force is made of 100% assassins to come to pass.
As it stands now, there's very little reason to even consider building much else.

OOC: Yes, the are Charioteer Dreadnaughts.

I proposed 13 be the total number any House can field a one time.  That is the stack that I have leaving Madoc, and they can only be rebuilt when one has perished.  That will give every house at least one standing army of assassins and they can't be every where at once that way.

And limit only 4 Assassins to be used in any attack, and have them mixed with other units.

Also, the rule should say Genetic Assassins and Slayers Guild since both are basically the same units with different costs.

I am for this rule, I realized in my evacuation of Madoc my one Assassin army could have just destroyed the majority of the Al-Malik land forces in one turn regardless how great their numbers were, and there is no fun in that.

I don't remember how the Slayer's guild units look, but my impression was that they're nowhere near as good as the gen.assassins.

Actually, you are right, let's remove Slayer's Guild from the proposal any house can have as many of them as they desire.

It'd be easier to keep track of (since there's nothing to keep track of).
It would give some unequal advantage to those who already have more of them produced than the others, but maybe it's a fair trade off.

By the way, the rule, whichever we agree on, I understand to be an OOC house rule, not a in-character agreement to be broken by a willing party.

Yes, it should be a rule added to the Game Rules on the main page not roleplaying Imperial Senate Rules.

Need Help for Improved Images for 3.4f

On a separate note, Emperor Wars 3.4f should be out by tomorrow, and one thing I want to do but just don't have the time to paint several of the black and white unit pictures.  I have new photos for the Muster Engineers, Bounty Hunters, Scions of Zhal and Manifest Light Legion but that is about it for this update.

If you or anyone you know would like to help with this just screenshot a black and white EFS image, color it, and save it at 175X150 pixels, preferably in a .jpg file.

Here is an example of what I am doing this is the new Muster Engineers image.

After looking at the fact that I could just destroy any army with my deadly assassins, I think we should just ban using Genetic Assassins in this game period, and since I have fixed this problem for the next Emperor Wars version it shouldn't be a problem for any future games.

So shall we all just disband our Genetic Assassins and make it a Game Rule not to build them anymore?

A bit radical, but I'd agree.

Don't trust your testing too much, though - the game gives a lot of advantage to the attacker, and your troops are inherently better than many, due to hightened loyalty.
In testing, it took me two full stacks of assorted crap to destroy your damaged assassins. Costly, but not prohibitive.

Still, if others agree, I'd be willing to get rid of the admittedly unbalanced unit for good.

Speaking of assassins, i am fine with both decisions, however the idea to disband all of them satisfies me more.

Fellow Lords and Lady,

My master wishes me to inform the other great noble houses that the events of recent years has led to great internal reflection.  Therefore, Lord Flavius has decided to direct all resources to maximizing the full potential of the Garden Worlds for the betterment of their citizens.  Thus, he has asked me to announce the following proclamation regarding Li Halan diplomacy with the other noble houses and the Imperial Throne for the foreseeable future.

1. Peace treaties will be ratified in the near future with the Universal Church and Merchant League to normalize relations.

2. The Li Halan will disband all Genetically Engineered Assassins.

3. All Li Halan Warships will be stationed within the Garden Worlds for planetary defense.

4. The Li Halan will abstain from voting in all upcoming elections for Regent.

5. The Li Halan will not pursue or accept any appointments to a Ministry.

6. (Modified) All House Warships are banned from entering Li Halan space unless granted permission directly from Duke Flavius Li Halan in advance.  All commercial transport vessels with peaceful intentions are still free to traverse Li Halan space unmolested.

7. The Li Halan Commercial fleet will continue with pre-war commerce throughout the jumpweb.
