Additional House Rule:

This will mainly apply to the Li Halan and Decados, but I think if we build a palace on Vril-ya, Shaduveen, Manitou, or Apshai we have to declare war on the Vau by attacking one of their cities.  Since, I like to focus on the roleplaying aspect of EFS, I don't like the fact they those two houses can came Vau worlds without consequences.  This does not mean we cannot build resource cities we just can't claim the world outright without fighting the Vau.  This doesn't apply to the Al-Malik or Hawkwoods with the Symbiot worlds since they will be in a constant state of conflict they can and should be able to build or palaces on them at anytime in the game.

Everyone in agreement with this additional house rule?

I can agree to that. Perhaps we should expand that to both the League, Church and Ministry worlds. Its not particularly believable that any of the NPC factions would allow House settlers without some sort of payment or open war.

Although judging from what little lore I know the Vau actually seem okay with settlers at least on anything that isn't Shaduveen and the Embassy world. I could be wrong.

Also on ruins, no frigging wonder the Church/League/Rebels were constantly fighting each other last game. Its only a matter of time now.

Apparently, only I and Margrave signed off on this rule.  What do rest of you want to do?  Personally, I am fine now if the Decados want to claim Manitou.

((i think i'm in favor of this rule, but if it didn't get approved before it's hardly fair to enforce it in retrospect.  i'd prefer war be required but i won't hold you to it!))

The Decados start with an estate on Manitou, and since they built the palace already that should keep that world.  But no more claims to Vril-Ya, Shaduveen, or Apshai unless they declare war on the Vau.

The mapping system only lets me place 40 worlds in EFS, so I am working on a second mod where I remove Vril-Ya and Shaduveen and add Hargard (Vuldrok) to Leminaken and Hira (Kurgan Caliphate) to Vera Cruz and name it the Lost Worlds mod.  What do you all think?

That's not a bad idea. Helps balance available worlds between land locked (star locked?) Hazat and plentiful Decados/al malik.

That's a lot of new custom units to make for the kurgan and vuldrok though.

I have the Fading Suns Lost Worlds and Star Crusade books I haven't read them in their entirety because it never applied to Emperor Wars.  I think I have plenty of screenshots that I can use and hopefully enough unit slots left to add them.  The Hazat/Kurgan Caliphate war is such a big part of the lore that having its absence in the game just seems a loss when playing the Hazat.  Plus Vuldroks are such a big part of Hawkwoods conflict.

I would love to see that mod.  Especially if you can replace the Vau with Barbarians so the Vuldrok and Kurgan Caliphate actively war with the players from time to time.

Cousins, there's a dark shadow creeping upon us, and it bears Li Halan insignia. Behold what my secret police has uncovered on Byzantium Secundus:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Apologies for quality of the photo - the message from my agents had to be scrambled to avoid detection. Yes, these are genetically-engineered assassins in Li Halan employ, no less than 7 batallions, just waiting to strike, smuggled to the capital under the guise of merchant missions.
When al-Malik agreed to open the Criticorum lanes to merchant traffic, we did not expect such a blatant breach of the noble code of conduct.

I call for Li Halan to remove their clandestine strike troops from the Capital and provide sufficient explanations for their behaviour.

Until these troops are removed, or all the houses are satisfied with the explanations, we are closing the Criticorum lanes for Li Halan ships, and will open fire on any vessel bearing their colours daring to run the blockade.

I call for the Hazat, House Hawkwood and House Decados to coordinate their surveillance efforts in the Capital in order to ensure no more assassins lurk about.

OOC: I'll remain rather busy until Friday, and may not be able to find the time to play, seeing how turns take forever to complete nowadays. So, don't rush the turn.

Most Noble Al-Malk Cousins and Fellow Lords and Ladies,

Lord Ibn Donald, may I recommend that you execute your head of intelligence immediately for incompetance, because the Li Halan do not have "Six" battalions of Genetically Engineered soldiers on Byzantium Secundus our House has "Sixteen" battalions.  Also, they are creations of the Nung Labs on Midian and were transported to Byzantium Secundus via Leaguehiem and Madoc not Critcorum.

The Li Halan always honor their commitments and treaties, so our transports have been removed from Criticorum.  While Criticorum is the most direct route to Byzantium Secundus it is not the only route, and should you fire upon any of our ships passing through Madoc we will retaliate on a massive scale.

Also, to the other houses the Li Halan have nothing to hide we encourage all houses to reinforce their positions on Byzantium Secundus especially from a disreputable wine soden noble house such as the Al-Malik that position massive war fleets on the Imperial Capitol's doorstep or two jumps from our new Regent's lightly defended homeworld of Aragon as shown in this Imperial Eye fleet movement report.
