On a completely unrelated note, Ibn Don would like to inform anyone that it might concern, that he regards Madoc as lying under his sphere of influence, and any attempt to steal al-Malik spoils of the long and bloody war against the Scravers will be taken as a declaration of war on the house itself.

Perhaps I wasn't clear in my State of the Empire address, or perhaps you were just too busy daydreaming of ships of the line to listen.  I shall write the Regency's position out again, in small words and large letters:

WE MUST WORK TOGETHER, OR ELSE THE ALIENS WILL KILL US

Does that help to reach through your dense skulls?  Should I send an envoy to yell into your ears directly?

This Regency condemns unilateral capture of the Patriarch and Leaguemeister, but will have to make the best of the situation.  Li Halan, you are to deliver the Patriarch and Guildmaster to the Imperial Eye immediately, and you are to deliver two scepters to each of the five Great Houses.  I should have your scepters jettisoned to be quite frank, but it would only lead to more bickering.

If you see fit to keep your word and do this--which given your recent history, is a serious concern to me--then the Regency will continue to remain neutral in this matter and stay out of your business.  If you decide to do otherwise, then the rest of the Empire should have no problem wiping you from the starmap.

As for the business between al Malik and Li Halan, this Regency will not lower itself to the level of petty bickering.  Extinguish yourselves like our fading suns, if it will bring peace to the rest of us.  Otherwise, once you have come to an agreement, you will be welcomed back into our peace and prosperity as brothers in humanity.

As soon as we determine how to salvage this situation with the Church and League, we will make a formal address.

As always, the fiery temperament of an Aragonese Noble truly makes all of those listening perk up and pay attention.  As per the previous statement made by House Li Halan, both the scepters and captives are in route.  Duke Flavius has stated the we should release the delivery manifest to you.

House Li Halan - Delivery to (Undisclosed Location)
House Hazat - Delivery to Aragon Palace (One in the year 4978 & the second in 4979)
House Decados - Delivery to Byzantium Secundus Embassy (Both in year 4979)
House Hawkwood - Delivery to Pentateuch Palace (Both in year 4978)

Regarding the Al-Malik, my master apologizes for his previous outburst, and has offered the Al-Malik a way to peace since their have been no shots officially fired and the current war with the Al-Malik is simply one of words.   If the Al-Malik let our troops evacuate from Madoc peacefully, then we shall go our separate ways.  However, should any Li Halan blood be spilled on Madoc then certain actions will have to be taken in response.

The Empire has been in turmoil for too long. No one here will doubt the justice in defending ourselves from the fanatics of the Patriarch, or the hired goons of the Leaguemeister. And we all also agree that it is the Nobility that is most fit to rule and govern in the name of our long departed Emperor. Surely as men of learning and royal blood we can all just, get along?

Regardless, now that an estimated time of delivery has been put forward by the bold Li Halan for the security of the fallen Church and League scepters certain safeguards must be put forth. House Hawkwood will have it known that any attack by any party against the Honor Guard delivering the scepters into our collective safekeeping will be considered a cowardly act worthy of only a Vuldrok and a direct declaration of war against the very fabric which keeps the Empire together.

Let us not fall to barbarism in these darkening times, soon the balance of power will be restored, and peace within our grasp. I ask that all Houses pledge that they will not interfere with these treasures, for if even one scepter were destroyed, there may never be peace again.

Seeing how Flavius jumped between declaring war and not declaring war something like 5 times in a span of less than one year, I'll have to postpone any and all civil pronouncements about peace and prosperity in the Empire of Man for later, lest he changes his mind again.

Also, I had been many times injured in word and action over the course of these recent events, so at present I'm unsure if I'll be able to contain myself from taking at least a modicum of revenge when I get the chance.
