Dwarven Therapists
« on: March 20, 2008, 04:22:00 pm »

So, after a few failed artifacts and invasion attempts, I ended up in an interesting situation.  Several dwarves of mine were unhappy, because they'd lost friends.  So, Mosus Borrikol ("Trenchwheel"), the expedition leader of the Hamlet,  decided to do a little therapist work on the side.  One of the dwarves wound up crying on her shoulder.  Another dwarf ended up yelling at her.  Another dwarf just felt nice being able to talk to someone.

This is a beautiful detail, especially the repeat visits of my wrestler, who was miserable from losing two friends and his lover.

He eventually tantrumed, broke the arm of the girl who cried on Mosus' shoulder, kicked a dog, and now feels great XD

You must not have a sheriff, or a military for him to get away with that. Or is he in a cage?

I tried bringing a courtisane to a sinister forest...lot of good those liar/console/etc skills did her. had her polishing floors for ages.
The lumberjacks and miners didn't mind though.  :)

Why are there no polygamous relationships amongst dwarves?
surely morelles are not to blame.

Would probably be too hard to program in.  Plus some people might take offense... I'm personally waiting for Gay/Les/Bi dwarfs without Gender bending via Dwarf Companion.  That and Dwarfs not always going from lovers to marriage... come on where are the break ups?  (Which also meant they could move on and such if their lover died.)

Of course, then there is the "What is a good Percentage of alternate lifestyle dwarfs.  1 in 10 sounds like too much (20 of your Dwarfs would be alt-lifed) unless you made it a soft cap.  But then some people might get upset. (well 20 at 200, unless they all came in one Migration)

There was a sheriff.  He got a beating.  And a military.  Hell, the sheriff watched him beat the crap out of her!

The problem is, a breakup would be a large unhappy thought.

See, if a well-adjusted human tantrums or goes over a breakup, can you imagine a dwarf having a breakup?

Yes,  It would be awesome!   I mean, someone breaks up with someone, and goes on a  dwarf tantrum (And if they were really close to getting married... mmm Berserker, Meloncohly.).  Then you'd have to write PSA's for your dwarfs... hehe.

Sir this overreactive behavior is inappropriate for a Bay12ver. There is little to no emotional consequences for the readers and as such, doe not necessitate this response to NecroRebel's accident.

which the fact that he resurrected a 4 year old thread on accident IS made many times funnier by his username.

also im getting tired of this self-entitled rage response every time someone necros a damn thread, It doesn't hurt you now does it? If it really bothers you just report whoever did it and let the admins decide.

the anger levels on these forums is getting quite annoying.
