Joining
 Name: Mid American Union

Trait: Survivalist,-good at scrounging up supplies and repairing things out of completely different things
Trait: Resilient-  Used to rugged lands and irradiated waste lands , the Mid American Union society can survive most attacks long enough for a counter attack
Trait: Guerrilla specialist- Due to raiders and other groups in near by regions, the fighters of the MID American Union has become renown at guerrilla tactics.
(Optional Negative Trait): Rugged Isolationists- Due to their life in rugged mountainous terrain and living with very little contact outside of their civilization, other then raiders, has led top them being suspicious of others.
(Optional Postitive Trait): Medical technology- Due to living in a harsh wasteland with proximity to radiation and raiders, the Mid American Union has placed some emphasis on medical technology

Desc:
Born among the wastes and remnants.
Formed from Remnants of parts of West and Midwest America, Northern Mexico, and Southern Canada. This Civilization is a loose coalition of cities and societies has been formed due to a need to survive and defend themselves. Living among  raiders and surrounded by inhospitable lands has lead to this society being relatively low tech compared to other civilizations left in the world, instead surviving on  the scraps and left overs.
They did discover an oil field with one working oil rig, but they still have little oil. they fell back upon corn ethanol.
Due to their proximity to radiation, the society has put effort into health care to counter act its effects and keep their society safe.As they expand farther into Canada and Mexico, they are starting to rid themselves of their isolationist nature and are starting to develop new technology and devices.
The future is hopeful but uncertain for this Society.

i think there was a map already that showed the US as irradiated and mainly inhospitible lands. I was thinking I could claim a small strip of land stretching through the middle region of the US.

I'm pretty sure there's unclaimed land somewhere. Not particularly sure where though.
