EVENTS OF AUTUMN . . .

Use 0.25 Influence to give Krati a dream about better fungi "planting" methods ...
You send a dream to Krati about fungi production. She seems interested, but the scratchers don't trust her enough to listen to her ideas. She hoards a few sticks and log scraps to experiment on her own.

Use 0.25 Influence to give Ch'eeln a dream about using a net, not a fishing rod ...
You send a dream to Ch'eeln, showing him kobolds with woven vines catching many delicious creatures from a great expanse of water. The dream moves him deeply, and he can't help but tell his friend Krutui about it, since he knows she is interested in the plentiful vines of the woods. While he does so ...

Tell the shaman about nets, so she can share this information with the fisher ...
Rukiti approaches the pair and tells Ch'eeln that you have sent her to help him with his dream of the vine-fishers. Ch'eeln's faith is reinforced, as there was no way that the shaman could have known of his dream otherwise. Krutui is likewise shocked. She spends some time playfully accusing Ch'eeln of setting up the moment, but as she trusts Ch'eeln, she doesn't actually believe that.
Fishing has changed to Fishing (Nets) and gains extra experience.
Krutui has begun to believe in you!

Tell shaman more about brewing, and spend 0.25 Influence to send her a vision on the process ...
You spend quite a bit of time guiding Rukiti in the art of brewery. While she is having problems sourcing honey on her own, she does manage to reliably reproduce her fermentation methods. Her alcohol creation is lacking (likely because of the supply lack, particularly as the season ends), but she masters the art of transferring cultures to new ferments.
Fermentation has reached LV 1! (Fermentation can use 0.1 units of honey or 0.1 units of fresh plants (fruits) along with 0.1 units of wood (for containers) to preserve 0.5 units of any food. Fermented food is tastier than dried food.)

Use 0.25 Influence on our Shaman, and show her a dream of how the ritual was originally conducted, partially as areward. Then talk about how the rites were conducted ...
You reward your shaman with visions of past glory. The tribe is somewhat worried about her as she sits, enthralled with the images that others cannot see, for hours on end, but she revels in it. Seeing images of the great civilizations of old stirs passion in her heart, and she soaks in the knowledge you bestow upon her. She spends hours afterward scratching images on the side of her hut and staining them with charcoal, so she won't forget them - something you barely thought of, but she picked up from the images anyway. They're crude, but the rest of the tribe marvels at being able to see what someone else sees.
Ritual has reached LV 0!
Art (Drawing) has reached LV 0!
Tuaki has begun to believe in you!
Kratazi has begun to believe in you!
D'choln has begun to believe in you!


The tribe acts on its own ...
Uiti begins to make stories on his own, inspired by the visions that Rukiti scribbled on her walls. He mostly shares them with the other believers, and Rukiti corrects him on several things, but they seem to be rapidly developing their own lore of things without your intervention.
Storytelling (Myth) has reached LV 0!

Kizai and Nel'cho have declared they are mates! Not all kobolds mate permanently, but when they do they will live together permanently. Mated kobolds will not breed with someone other than their mate. Mated kobolds take up less room, effectively taking up the hut space of only one 'bold. They also take it very hard when their mate dies and may never move on, becoming a permanent mourner.

WINTER, YEAR ONE

Winter is mild this year. Each kobold will use 0.1 units of wood for heating or die.

Herbalists are unable to find food in winter. Males are useless. Females dry excess mushrooms.

Mushrooms thrive in the low temperatures and light. Mushroom output doubles.


You have 3.5 Influence.

VIGNETTE EVENT

In early winter, you are surprised by a wave of tension radiating among your tribe. You quickly pay attention, scanning their minds (as you are able to, even if you can't communicate with them) to find the problem. They are all clustered near the fire pit, with Zazi and Uiti in the center, clearly glaring each other down. After scant moments, you figure out what the problem is.

Uiti has accused Zazi of stealing food and wood from the tribal stock! This is considered a great offense, and is a very serious accusation - in particular because Zazi is seven years, and Uiti is scarcely mature at all. You find that with age typically comes rank, regardless of if it is deserved, and your people are both outraged and disgusted that Uiti would dare make such a claim.

However, the thing is ... Uiti's claim is true. You find quickly that Zazi has been stealing food and wood, and hoarding it in a special cache just outside of the village. She is worried by Rukiti's recent influence in the tribe, and doesn't trust that it is  going to hold together. She has been planning for what she considers its eventual downfall; when she was a hatchling, she was part of another tribe that split because of the demon-of-the-woods's influence, and she is terrified of a similar happening. She fears that you are another demon in disguise and she does not want to be left starving and freezing.

She has been stealing from the tribe, however. Typical punishment in the old tribe for theft is removal of both thumbs - leaving the kobold crippled but not entirely useless.

Uiti saw Zazi stealing, but did not think the accusation through entirely; he doesn't know where Zazi's cache is, but knows he saw her taking things outside of meal and fire times. He is immensely afraid as well; punishment in the old tribe for false accusations is removal of the tongue, which would mean, of course, that he would never be able to tell another story.

You must decide if you will intervene or not; you can of course speak to your shaman and tell her whatever you'd like, but tension is already high with her taking such a leading stance in the tribe despite her age. If you do nothing, it seems likely that no one will find Zazi's stashed goods and Uiti will be punished for his insolence, as he has no proof of his claim.

On the subject of the vignette, here is what I think we should do:

Step 1) Impose an ultimatum: Tell the shaman to stop the tension by giving each one of the kobolds the possibility to prove their claims during the period of one day. This is likely to be accepted (as it is a good compromise between the incoming punishment and just letting them free). During this period of time, they would be subject to questioning by everyone, and careful vigilance.
Also consider this:
To make the ultimatum, we must first make some doubting to happen. Also, for the tribe to listen, we need to side with what they believe at first. To combine both we could make the shaman criticize the boldness of the statement of the storyteller, and suggesting that, if goods have been stolen, there there would be a lack of them. This will make the villagers or the storyteller check, and, as they dicover that they indeed lack part of them, say that we still don't know who is telling the truth. Then, we say that they have one day to prove their facts.
Step 2) Tell the shaman what we know about him. His reaction was understandable, given the circumstances. We don't want anyone to be punished here.
Step 3) Gather those that we trust: we must make sure to tell the believers that we want no violence here, and a tell a vague phrase to those who are starting to believe: "It trusts that you will act with wisdom. Don't let her down"
Step 4) During the shaman's period to question both kobolds, we tell something different to each one:
-We tell the storyteller that we know that he is telling the truth, yet he must stand in a low profile. The tribe is more likely to punish him, and so he must be cautious with what he says.
-The shaman will confront the thief. She will begin by camly telling him that we know. We know everything. Yet we understand what he did, because we are a part of him as much as he is a part of us, even if he hasn't realized that. Upon the disbelief that it will create, the shaman will describe the place where he stored the stolen goods. She will then say: "If tomorrow you confess your crime, I will ensure that your punishment is lowered. Yours was an act of fear, yet still a crime. Our deity cares for all of us, believers or not, yet justice is going to be dispensed if you don't repent." She will then leave.
Step 5) During the night, we send calming dreams to the whole tribe.
Step 6) No matter what happens, we make the shaman go with the whole tribe to the place where the goods are.
Step 7) At the end of the season, the shaman has to make a ritual, no matter how imperfect it is, to show everybody that we are here and we are responsible of finding the truth in the past, and we explain the thief's motives to steal, then tell everybody that we care for all of them, and that, even if they are not believers, they are welcome in the tribe, because we care for each and every of them. We are a part of them as they are a part of us.

It is worth mentioning that the original suggestiong was changed a little bit, but it is nothing important, only something more likely to increase our opportunities of success.

Can Vignettes be separated into different actions?

I have that doubt because it would be more sensible to define the punishment for the thief after we know how the things carried out.

Depending on the events and course of action taken, secondary votes / events may occur. There's no set rule that a vignette has to be one vote / event only.

Aaaahn, nope, too metagame. I haven't given you success chances for anything else, I'm not starting now. You either +1 or you don't,  no conditonals on chance.

Besides, you should be able to get a rough idea of success chance on your own based on the information available in the thread, then decide from there.
