Ask where they were before they were transported here, and continue trying to work out the password.
"So, um.. what are your names? I felt it was an appropriate time to ask, but dios mio, also, where were were you before all this happened? "

Doctor: "Sudheer Jhaveri. I was visiting my son in Surat. What about you?"
The cashier has permanently abandonded her position behind the counter and rather sits near you two where she doesn't have to watch the corpse. "I'm Kalyana Kibe. I was at my home in Hyderabad."

[Computer technology: 4] Oh, it turns out you don't need a password after all. That was easier than expected.

"Well, I'm Martita Sanchez-Rios, I'm originally from Mexica, but my family and I immigrated to Brooklyn, in New York, when I was young. I was flying back home, after visiting some family members in Mexico, and then this happened. Also, should we do something about the body? Like a funeral?
Tell my life story, and suggest doing something about the body. Also, start searching on the internet about what's happened.

"On airplane? That must have come down hard..." Kalyana voices her empathy.

"Burial will happen. Eventually. As soon as someone finds where we can actually cremate people. This place places a lot of restrictions on traditional funeral rites. You don't happen to be his family?" Doctor asks.

The wifi doesn't offer internet connection. It is simply a wifi router somewhere nearby that used to have internet connection, but not anymore. For reasons.

"Thank...you..*sniff*"

Wipe the tears from my eyes and try to be brave.  Ask if there are any other kids who were separated from their parents.

"Sonny, don't stick your finger... or uh.. anything else into this hole on the car okay?" Joe turns to the dwarf "Thank you for the help my friend! As for the question, I exclaimed "Yes", and received no response. I am going to go search for this Hooded Man of Myth..."

Draw a right angle on the car's window. Regardless of the result, go and look for the aforementioned hooded man.

Wipe the tears from my eyes and try to be brave.  Ask if there are any other kids who were separated from their parents.

"Yes, there are few. Thankfully most were transported together with their family. Is he not your father?" She asks pointing Joe who's walking away.

"That is second most common answer after 'What'. Unsuprising, really. Uh, just so you know, the emo man doesn't have a hood. He lives near the river, 100 meters upriver from main docks."

[2] That drawing did nothing. Whatever. Onwards with your quest for power!

You wander deeper into the city you. The road is wide, buildings have large plot, and waist high bushes are used heavily for decorations. Not far in you find a store selling cars and a police station. Only reason you can tell what they are is because of the signs telling so. And because they are notably larger than other buildings around.

"No...that guy is just...um, a wacky man I met.  My real dad isn't like him at all." A smile appears on Sonny's face as pleasant memories fill his mind. "My dad can build anything.  He built me a tree-house all by himself!  He even added a ladder, but I always liked to climb up to the tree-house using the branches.  Sometimes I would fall and hurt myself, but my mom was always there to help.  She's a nurse.  She even taught me how to use band-aids and other stuff so that I'd be alright if I hurt myself when she wasn't around..."

The smile on Sonny's face slowly fades away as tears begin to wet his eyes.

"...I miss them..."

Resist the urge to cry.

Check out the police station, see what is inside, perhaps try some more symbols to get in. If I can't and there are some windows, just try shooting a hole through one. 3 shots maximum.

The city in dark

"Well, I'm Martita Sanchez-Rios, I'm originally from Mexica, but my family and I immigrated to Brooklyn, in New York, when I was young. I was flying back home, after visiting some family members in Mexico, and then this happened. Also, should we do something about the body? Like a funeral?

"Burial will happen. Eventually. As soon as someone finds where we can actually cremate people. This place places a lot of restrictions on traditional funeral rites. You don't happen to be his family?" Doctor asks.

The wifi doesn't offer internet connection. It is simply a wifi router somewhere nearby that used to have internet connection, but not anymore. For reasons.
"I am not his family, and I barely know him. But he did try to help me when I was injured, and I think he deserves better than to leave his dead body on the floor."
Explain my situation, and then start trying to pinpoint the location of the router.

"Sounds like he was a good man in heart, but if I can make anything out of his last words he got some bad karma. Hopefully not too much. I know you westerners have different customs with dealing dead, but here in India we don't touch dead unnecessarily. But since we don't probably even have priest here nor we can't really know when sun rises or sets, I guess we have to make compromises. Eventually."

Now finding that router is not gonna be easy.
[Search: 2] You wander around inside and outside with the laptop and be completely baffled. Variation in signal strength makes absolutely no sense.

Now that you are outside you see there's certain change in traffic. People are moving with definite purpose, carrying various metal items to other end of the block.

Futuristic city

"No...that guy is just...um, a wacky man I met.  My real dad isn't like him at all." A smile appears on Sonny's face as pleasant memories fill his mind. "My dad can build anything.  He built me a tree-house all by himself!  He even added a ladder, but I always liked to climb up to the tree-house using the branches.  Sometimes I would fall and hurt myself, but my mom was always there to help.  She's a nurse.  She even taught me how to use band-aids and other stuff so that I'd be alright if I hurt myself when she wasn't around..."

[1] You bawl your eyes out. The woman hugs you tightly and your tears and snot make her shirt dirty, but of course you don't notice or care at this point.
"You have wonderful parents. Don't worry, I'm certain they are alive and around somewhere. All you need to do is find them. And we'll help you out. Are you hungry? Would you perhaps like cookies? I have some at my house. It's not far." She says.

Check out the police station, see what is inside, perhaps try some more symbols to get in. If I can't and there are some windows, just try shooting a hole through one. 3 shots maximum.

Inside the station are few police men in their fancy uniforms. Dwarfs, humans and birdheads. Door opens automatically as you approach, though calling it a "door" might be a bit of stretch. It's more like a hole appearing into the wall.

The police sees you and smiles you. "Hello. Do you need help?"

((Good thing I didn't shoot the windows.))

Joe glances around the room wide-eyed "No! No! Uh... I was just looking around, have you heard of anyone who was in this city before everyone else? That has always lived in this place..."

Ask when they were transported, or teleported here. Then, continue to look for the router.

"*sniff*...Yes, I'd to have some cookies."

Go with the woman to her house.  If she turns out to be some kind of creeper, scream for help and run.

The city in dark

"Hmmm... this is strange."

"Under a hour ago, I guess."

[Search: 4] You are fairly certain you locate the building it is in. If the tunnel you came from is south, then the building is on eastern side of the block and middle. Seems fairly normal apartment building from outside. Not different from others around here.

Futuristic city

((Good thing I didn't shoot the windows.))

Joe glances around the room wide-eyed "No! No! Uh... I was just looking around, have you heard of anyone who was in this city before everyone else? That has always lived in this place..."

"We have done some communal research about the subject, and unless someone lied, we can fairly certainly say this city didn't exist before The Question. Everyone who were in their own house during the event claims that layout of their new house is identical to their original homes, all cabinets and items are where were supposed to be. It's only technology and appearance that is different. It's as if whole buildings were transported and transformed. Or everyone's memories were altered, but that's not something we can easily prove."

"*sniff*...Yes, I'd to have some cookies."

Go with the woman to her house.  If she turns out to be some kind of creeper, scream for help and run.

She leads you deeper into the city, past some specialist store selling ropes and climbing tools and into one rather pretty house. All houses here are pretty, really. She fumbles with the front door a while, continously drawing and redrawing a complicated symbol on it until it finally opens. Inside the house is very bright, same natural shadowless light painting everything very nice. Paintings on walls are quite funny looking abstract things, shapes in constant motion.

While you stare at the paintings the woman brings a box of cookies. Choclate chipped ones. "Do you want something to drink? I have coffee and tea at least."

So far totally not a creeper.
