It is an idea, and could be a good one. However its implementation could be wonky and add unnecessary baggage to an otherwise simple game. Love to hear how anyone thinks it could be worked in though, as well as any other ideas of course.

Ehh, I think it would be a bit overkill. If you want something like betting, why not have the winner of each match take the loser's excess points after the match?

I mean it's not really betting but it would net 'extra' points, especially if someone is being conservative in an effort to get a big payoff.
