Kat raised her eyebrow. She could usually make out almost nothing of what he was saying due to his accent and the metal shell he was always wearing, but this time the word 'Trok' came out.

"Troks, Casslan of Clan Wehner...they are an old legend from my tribe. They apparently roamed Mother Earth long before even the sky fires, but they hid underground-only when all the humans were gone or scattered, did they rise up. They are large and ugly, with pale green skin that glows in the dark, and sharp claws and teeth. They are intelligent enough to claim places for themselves, and waylay passersby-they apparently don't care about what they take from you, as long as they do it by force or threat-apparently they'll take whatever they can get. I also heard they were impossible to kill, that they can heal from almost any wound-even if chop off an arm, they can hold it to the stump and it'll be as good as new...

I've never seen one myself..."

Harvey sighs and looks around for any smaller gates or entrances.

"I don't know about you Gar but I really don't want to go through the gate with this lot."

"Someone might even think I'm associated with them, perish the thought."

"There's only one gate, bug-man. You will have to suffer the proximity of we strangers for a few minutes more." she says politely.

"Hrn, fine, come on Gar.

Harvey stands off behind the group.

"Don't suppose a tribal like you has ever heard of a car?"

Nikita glanced at Noah. "So, how'd you end up in the Ark?"

She thought it might be a bit impolite, but the silence was boring her.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

"Don't suppose a tribal like you has ever heard of a car?"

"...Old people metal beast, rides on the round-hards, and is fed with the Tarstick. It spits out bad spirits into the air, and makes terrible loud sounds-boom, da, boom boom da! People used to own them, a lot of people. So many people you couldn't even breath the air anymore. They plowed our world under to make their many stone paths. I'm glad they are mostly gone." She says, flipping her hair.

Her words are true, of course...but she has enough of a presence of mind not to tell anyone about their own metal beast.

((Yeah, where is your motorcycle caellath? :P I hope you remembered where you parked...))

Noah looked strangely at Nardo before he answered.
"My family was kind of well-off before everything happened, and they bought advance tickets for us when they heard that things were getting heated between the U.S. and other countries. But... they were at work when the bombs dropped. With all the traffic, they didn't.. make it. As far as I know, at least. I didn't see them before it closed, or after it opened... What about you?"

"Mom was a nuclear physicist. Pretty famous one, too. Dad was the CEO of a big weapons manufacturing company. Neither of them bought into the whole 'We're gonna nuke each other' business. They thought nobody was that stupid. Turns out my paranoid grandpa was more accurate. He bought a ticket, but he died a week before the bombs started dropping. Left it to me in the inheritance, along with the rifle and ammo. Crazy coot. Day they fell, one of the robots came and dragged me into the Ark. Just before I got frozen, I think I heard my mom screaming." she goes quiet for a moment, then blinks.
"How long has it been since the nukes dropped?"

Harvey snorts.

"Any bad spirits that make it into this air will probably choke and die."

Mostly gone? Do you happen to know where any of them are?

Kaitlyn address the person guarding the gate. "So you gonna let us in? We're here traveling badlands for scavenging and would like to enter this city to gather information."

"I have been to the many silent seas. There are many iron beasts resting at the bottom of the lakes. Perhaps you could take one of those." She says, with absolutely no irony in her voice.

"Probably be in better condition then anything up here..."

"Unfortunately, they won't work."

Harvey gestures to the guitar case.

"What do you have in there?"
