Harvey uses the pause in conversation to observe Kat, then says to himself more then anyone else.

"Oh great, another tribal, where on earth do you suppose they came from? Did some half insane guy suddenly say 'I'm now tribal chief' and found some woman who just went with it and all the poor children actually believed it?"

Kat hears the man and narrows her eyes at the man with the bug-mask. It takes her a few moments to puzzle out his words.

She replies to him. She is actually fairly persuasive to those who allow her the chance, her voice calming, pleasant and rational-if a bit scientifically inaccurate.

"...We, the sons and daughters of the Mother Earth that was-we are the time, before the time, before the end. When the fire fell, we survived, and went back to the old ways. Men and women once lived in a Great Garden-Edon...New ways killed Edon, brought the Sky-Fires, the blackness of the womb, poisoned the lands with evil spirits of the dead, and boiled all the seas and all the fish. Are you being surprised we would not want to go back to them?" She asks patiently.

She shrugs at the comment. She wasn't quite sure what the difference was.

Time to examine the corpses. Why are they desiccated and not skeletal? It's probably been centuries. Also any visible cause of death?

[Medicine check failed] He has no idea why they are still fleshy, but at least he knows they are dead. The glass is broken, though.
Hmm..

Which glass specifically? Like more pods that got broke? Or is part of the room glass?

Also can anything be determined from the positioning of the bodies? We're they just like sitting around and died? Or was there a struggle?

Noah walked quietly behind the others, his hand always at the ready to grab his laser pistol. For some reason it was colored much differently from the others; brown and orange instead of grey. It was pretty cool, he'd have to say, but he felt bad for stealing it from the man. The guy had a bullet scar in his forehead, too, which didn't help anything either.
"About how much longer until we get there, do you know?" he asked Nikita.

((So, Twin, Nav... Badlands or mountains?))
The girl he had spoken with looked up from her daze. "I dunno. I'm just as lost as you. Nardo?" she says, turning to the third member of their small group.
((Badlands, I guess?))
"Eha? I was following you two. Well, let's just keep walking. We're bound to stumble upon something sooner or later."
Nardo inhales deeply.
"I think I smell a city in the distance."

((Badlands, on the road towards the city.))

A shorter and lighter girl, one dressed in tribal clothes-a modest loincloth, and a faded white haltertop with a golden arch symbol on it-her skin decorated in blue woad tattoos, appears at Kaitlyn's side. She seems uneasy at the immensity of the wall in front of them...but, keeps a hand on one of her scrapwire spears for comfort. She also seems to stick close to the other woman, seemingly comforted by her company.

"Piss-holes are not lovely, Katlyn of the River." She states, with an inflected tribal patois. "If I had to take a piss, I'd go elsewhere than this place." It's hard to ever tell if Kat's being sarcastic or not.

((This is assuming we want to skip the whole team meeting thing and just get on with it. Idea being we already met and can relegate the encounter to a later noodle incident. :P If this doesn't mesh with you, I'll change my post.))
*Sigh* "Kat, how many times do I have to tell  you my name is Kaitlyn Rivers, not Kaitlyn of the River." she replies slightly annoyed.
But I agree with you, I wouldn't take piss here. either" she replies. she adds.

Kat smiles slightly. She turns back to the wall.

"I will remember your words Kaitlyn...River.

...Still, this 'pisshole' is in our way, is it not.

I think their clan chiefs must be very wealthy and powerful. You cannot go around, unless you want to climb the high stones. You cannot go under or over, unless you can fly like a bird, or dig like a rat. So you are forced to go through their gates. And like the Trok from the legends, who guards the bridge-he demands coins, or he will eat you. Do I guess correctly?"
She asks.

Nikita laughs a bit. "We got out of centuries long cryo-stasis a couple weeks ago. What's your excuse?"

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

"Trok no idea what are you talking about? No, he is not gonna eat us and I don't think there is a toll to be paid." she replies smirking as if trying to hold back laughing. "And yea we have to go through the gates." now heading in the direction of the gate.

Kat sprinted alongside, barely able to keep up with Cait's longer gait.

"A Trok is a large beast, that looks like a man. It uses it's size to bully smaller beings.

Much like the guards at the gate, I would think? I have seen this many times while traveling in these lands. Men like these are always selfish and proud, those with power over others. They may try to rob us...if they think we are worth robbing-force us to pay to enter their city..."
She finishes with a shake of her head.

Behind Kat and Kait and apparently oblivious to their banter is a tall figure wearing armor that's been obsolete for several centuries. The suit of plate looks somewhat ill-fitting, as if the person inside had the correct height but was lacking in the girth to fill it properly, something partially compensated - at least visually - by the colorful tabard's coverage. The person hums a cheery tone that is reminiscent of battle chants or chivalric songs as they push a large and ancient two-wheeled vehicle, having apparently unmounted after noticing a sign of civilization so close. There is no ranged weaponry displayed on their body nor on their transport, though an arming sword's sheath is seen at his waist - sword included.

Casslan, the person under all the armor, remains silent besides his good-humored humming when the talk of a beast called a "Trok" quickly draws his attention. "A Trok? Pray tell, god dame." His voice is partially muffled by a helmet better made for jousts than for trekking across wastelands, but it's clearly deep and he talks with his usual form of English that had also been outdated for centuries when disaster struck mankind.

"Could you guys also make a hamburger out of this arm when they cut it off? I wanted to eat it just for the sake of tasting it."
>That is horrible and disgusting. It will no doubt set you apart and create fear in your team mates. So of course.
