There is one. A quick search shows Idita is alive, and making rapid progress towards the next town over.

Kyle goes off to gather herbs and be productive.

There's a few gathering spots outside of town with herbs that the item menu says can be turned into Health Potions with the proper skill.

"I'll... I'll catch up with you all later! I'm going to go look around at the shops."
Astra almost runs off before stopping, and opening her menu. She sends friend requests to everyone here. She goes shopping, afterwards!

There are a multitude of shops in the town. They basically boil down to Items, Materials, Armor, and Weapons. Which type?

Yuri fires off friend requests to everyone that has been in their group before going to check the going rate forbcrafting mats... Bound to go up shortly, best to be ahead of the curve.

((Does that mean Materials, or do you mean an item to craft things with?))

Red and company go off to grind. Would they do a Quest or just grind on Random Mobs?
((Quests are more involved, usually involving a mapped battle and more rewards. Random Mobs is just experience and money.))

Where once in the keep of the town there stood the point where the fallen would respawn, there was now a walls upon walls of names. 100 were already crossed out, a skull icon below them.

• Think back to the beta. Where are the good starter quests and events that I can solo before other people find them?

Hm... There was one nearby that gets a decent sword for the first floor. It's a fetch quest: You're supposed to find some plant-like enemies with flowers in their mouth, and kill them to get that flower. They spawn rarely though.
