Is there a way to remove material descriptions from item names?

I'd much rather see "sock" or "fiber sock" than "hemp plant fiber sock". It makes names long and most of the time I don't really care about what a piece of clothing is made of.

As far as I can tell, this mod is supposed to be vanilla DF except with some bug-fixing and rebalancing. More importantly in this case, however, I think it also is supposed to reduce over specific items, such as where the fiber in a sock came from. I've not actually downloaded it myself, so I don't know for sure, but it's worth a shot.

Oh,Also, it's only updated to 40.08, but the last page in the thread seems to have some downloads that you can overwrite the old files with.
