I have a few questions about the rules.
  • Can armies act during the turn they are spawned at Capital/HQ? Can an army move, turn into a fleet and then move again? Or just move and turn into a fleet? Or turn into a fleet and then move?
  • Do provincial improvement orders take effect before or after combat has been resolved? If they take effect after combat, is it possible to build/raze improvements in a province during the turn in which you captured it?
  • We can order improvements built and razed in other players' provinces just as well as in our own, provided that the owners give their permission, right? Can we also build/raze improvements the owners don't have the tech for (e.g. an Airfield in a province held by a player without Military Aircraft)? Or build/raze improvements WE don't have the tech for, if the owners do have it?
  • Can a fleet attack an enemy fleet and transport a friendly army during the same turn?
  • In another EoD game, I saw a fleet transport an army belonging to an allied nation. Is that allowed here? If yes, do we need to announce that we're transporting allied armies during our own turn, or is it sufficient to consent to the convoy move orders when our ally issues them?
  • Do the bonuses from the (EXPL => Tanks => ATnk) advances stack? E.g. if you have EXPL and Tanks, do your armies get a +3/+1 bonus, or just +2/+1? Hitting with +6/+3 once you get to ATnk seems monstrous, but perhaps it's a reasonable pay-off for the research investment.
  • Can fleets move directly between the North and Baltic seas, and between the Aegean and the Black Sea? Even if there are hostile forces in Denmark/Constantinople?

I think the stacking is taken into account by the tech description. [+1/+0]+[+1/+1]=[+2/+1]. Which would make sense to me. Otherwise you get ridiculous bullshit where not being bull-testosterone aggressive will kill you.

Yeh :v Shells is +1 ATK, while Tanks make it +2 ATK/+1 DEF, and then this mutates into +3 ATK/+2 DEF with advance tanks ;v

Armies are spawned at the beginning of your turn, and can move during that turn. Fleets are built during the building phase (at the end of your turn) and thus cannot move the turn you create them. You can move an army and then turn it into a fleet.

It is possible to build in a province after capturing it, but if you don't actually take the province your order will be waster.

I'm not even sure about whether the bonus is granted when you attack one province with units from several provinces on your own turn. Is it?

Hello again. I'm thinking about running another Era of Diesel game here at Bay 12. Being a habitual automater, I'm also thinking about writing a program that resolves the turns and generates the map images. Does Haspen, Sheb or anyone else have any code, table templates or other resources that they would like to contribute, or invite me to contribute to? If you're already working on a turn resolver, for example, then it might be better to combine our efforts than to go it alone.
