Move from d6 to d8 next turn?

Yes, so that armies with high combat bonuses can be still overcome.
No, because the combat at equal bonuses will be too random.

More valuable as a trading partner.

Don't ally with them, just keep two or three small vassal states with a single province, have trade and/or research treaties with all of them. You get 1 max army from them if you eat them and only 2 RP/turn, unless you have changes to Academy rate or they're a populous province. Versus 4 RP/turn for research treaty and a buddy you can trade researches with who can't really backstab you without getting the shit kicked out of him. And a PI/turn and 2 max armies.

Yeah, but the limiting factor for treaties is the max number of treaty, not the number of partners.

Not yet, but in a turn or two, when I've saturated my buildings, maybe.

Yeah.

If you're going for a solo win, though, then do you really want your eventual enemies having that treaty boost?

EDIT:
Question.

Can we put in conditional orders based on whether or not a province surrenders if we expect to take a capital province? Obviusly if we fail, the province doesn't surrender.

No, no, no, four times no. No conditionals whatsoever.

What about building orders in province you're attacking, like in my game?

No.

Except defenseless provinces that you grab, because there's no need for conditionals in that case.

Alright.

When a province surrenders, if there's an army in it, does it die, auto-retake the province, retreat to the nearest non-occupied province, or join your army?

Also, darn it, Sheb. You're too good at this game. >_<

I assume you mean after Capital conquest? All armies in provinces that switch die off :v

EDIT: Also, Capitals count as HQ; you do not need to make a HQ in #30, Rolepgeek v:

Wow, that's harsh. I'd have gone for having armies in the province affecting the odds of switching, or even prevent switching altogether.

Is this also true of rebellion like the one in the Caucasus?

And I think you can't build HQs in your capital, Rolepgeek. Also, I don't see what I did to be "too good".

Edit: I know that's the rule I used in my game, but I agree it seems really harsh. I'd go for reducing the odds/preventing switch, but impose the "two strikes, you're out" of the Shadow of Khans game.

Yes, armies in province that rebels are disbanded too...

...although I might go for the 'loyalist army battles rebels to keep province loyal' approach. Then again who says it's not the armies that rebel in the first place? v:

Or the rebels keep the army, and actually attack you as NPCs? :p

I was just thinking that if I were to take Iceland, actually having to retake it whenever it rebels would be a pain in the ass.
