The Tower's Challenge(CYOP)
« on: June 03, 2015, 09:54:58 pm »

The Tower giveth, and The Tower taketh away. Your family grew wealthy on the loot your father pillaged from The Tower. The town became wealthy on the proceeds of this improbable industry. Every night more loot and monsters would magically appear in The Tower, and every morning brave men and women would enter The Tower. They fought their way through floor after floor. Your father was an especially skilled adventurer, and a local legend. He ascended to the 50th floor and returned. He was the first and only adventurer to make it that far. He dreamed of reaching the top of The Tower. That ambition killed him. Now you have come of age, having been trained by your extended family.

It is time for you to follow in your father's footsteps.
"Like my father before me,...

1. ...I am a brave warrior. I will take up my father's sword and shield!"
2. ...I am a cunning rogue. I will resole my father's boots of sneaking, and wear them with pride!"
3. ...I am an honorable luchador. I will wear my father's mask, and pin every floor boss with my signature move!"

4: I am a Necromancer, just like much of my family. The blood of Death runs through our bodies. Much of the town agriculture is maintained by our family. Undead make good fieldhands.

3. ...I am an honorable luchador. I will wear my father's mask, and pin every floor boss with my signature move!"

They told him not to go. He was growing old, and he couldn't get past floor 51 in his prime. He didn't listen. He died with his pride. His corpse was retrieved by your uncle, who has been teaching you the ways of the luchador since you were 7 years old. His mask has sat on the mantelpiece of your family home for years. Today you don the mask. You have no use for your old name, therefore it is not written here. From now on, you are simply known as...

¡El Tiburón!(jr.)

Now you need a party. All adventurers look for a balanced party, so that they may be able to face any challenge the ever-changing Tower presents.
For now, you only need a single companion to brave the first 10 floors of The Tower.

"I will bring...

1. ...a druid."
2. ...a cleric."
3. ...another luchador."

2. ...a cleric."

You are good friends with a cleric who also wishes to enter The Tower. He has been known to perform the occasional healing miracle, but nothing major. He intends to hone his skill by fighting in The Tower.

Now that all that is sorted out, you must enter The Tower.
The Tower stands impossibly tall. No one knows when it began to be there. No one knows who built it, or for what purpose. The exterior is impossible to climb on. On the interior, there are various monsters and magical objects. Every ten floors, there is a boss. The first five bosses are known. Everything after that is a mystery. For now, none of that is your concern. You read the inscription over the door, cross yourself, and enter. The cleric does the same.

"Whoever braves my 100 floor challenge shall be granted great wealth, power, and fame."

You enter a large room. There is a door on each of the walls. In the middle is a large rat.

Opponent:
Rat
level 1 Rat
HP: 5/5

The Party:
¡El Tiburón!(jr)
Level 1 Luchador
HP: 10/10

Padre Luz
Level 1 Cleric
HP: 10/10

"I will...

1. ...kick the rat."
2. ...insult the rat."
3. ...ask the padre to bless the rat."

3. ...ask the padre to bless the rat."

Padre Luz blesses the rat in the name of the father, the son, and the holy spirit. The rat looks confused, and scuttles away. It leaves by the door which is opposite the party. The door is slightly ajar.

The Party:
¡El Tiburón!(jr)
Level 1 Luchador
HP: 10/10

Padre Luz
Level 1 Cleric
HP: 10/10

"I will...

1. ...follow the rat!"
2. ...open the left door."
3. ...open the right door."

3. ...open the right door."

You follow the rat into another room, slightly smaller than the last. Against the far wall is a set of stairs. Between you and the stairs is a large wild boar. Señor Rat is nowhere to be found. To your right is a treasure chest, just out of reach.

Opponent:
Large Boar
Level 2 Boar
HP: 10/10

The Party:
¡El Tiburón!(jr)
Level 1 Luchador
HP: 10/10

Padre Luz
Level 1 Cleric
HP: 10/10

1. Hop onto that treasure chest and elbow drop that boar.
2. Open the treasure chest.
3. Leave and close the door.
