I've done a preliminary first pass on the most recent topics in this forum.  I've only done a few in adventure mode.  I still haven't gotten up the nerve to move giant Nist Akath, since the forum is old, but I'll do it once I back it up, or something.

Oh, and as I said in the suggestions thread:  "Don't yell at people for posting in the wrong forums, especially about stories. There are going to be some gray areas there and we haven't really established what goes where."

I guess people can point out threads to me in this thread for a bit, then I can lock it up.

I was thinking about that as I was going down the list, and I don't really know, since I didn't read them carefully.  It probably depends on their form.  We can discuss individual threads here.  There's no need to rush now that the process is underway.

edit:  I've moved over The Chasm-Challenge, since it takes the form of the succession game.  On the other hand, I can see why a general discussion of a challenge's rules might stay in the DF discussion forum.

All moved.  Not that we need to go much further back in time than that, although it might be a good slow project to do bits and pieces of occasionally, so people can browse all the past games easily.

Uhh, two things.  First of all, the Dead Halls is a modding discussion about a potential community/succession game.  It hasn't actually started.  I should probably get around to changing the name...   It may still qualify for being in the new section, but it is currently a modding discussion.

Also, what about the poor li'l Woodsman?  Heh, I suppose it's somewhat appropriate that he gets left behind.

It only seems logical to me that issuing the challenge would make a lot of sense in the general discussion (to get attention or encourage players to try it). After all, not all challenges are succession in nature. But once a few people say "I'm in!" then the OP can just copy the challenge over to the new forum as a new thread and let the Gen Disc thread die.

I, for example, took the Canyon challenge on my own, and had a dismal failure of a fort (goblins kept attacking and distracted me...next thing I know sections are falling because I designated mining out the foundation when I thought I was telling them to chop the wood around it!)

Definitely one of those "Grey Areas" mentioned.

Of course, this clunky forum includes special features like "you may only move a given topic once, ever".  So Dead Halls in now stranded there in any case...  being stranded alone surrounded by strange beasts might be good for the mood, but yeah, I didn't look carefully.
