@Sanure: I assume tapping to get mana from the Mantle doesn't take an action, unlike what I have been doing, correct?

Ragnarok, Jeff has Speed 1. By casting something you've spent your action and can't use another to move to Ranged Combat. I suppose the number of spells is dictated by Focus instead of Speed, but the fact you took the Main Phase's action of Casting already precludes taking Moving.

Jeff was engaged and stabbed in the gut so you're in Close and subject to being Engaged and stabbed by her lest something is done to prevent that.

You might have wanted to move to Ranged Combat before casting since it seemed safer and it's what I'm doing in my next turn.

I think she isn't engaged in dramatic fighting on a roof since she arrived trotting on a horse and Ral is in our range bracket and charged her. If he can target her from our bracket, she can target us back.

Well, still, we know she doesn't have burn to throw at me (white/blue rarely does) and she has bigger issues with Ral over there. Plus, I do have interceptors if needed.

@Cael, The Paradise mantle gives you a tap ability, so to gain the mana you have to tap yourself, meaning you can't take a movement action or make an attack. Otherwise, It's not an action.

My guess? Same as in magic. Pick a card in your library and put it in your hand.

Get up the necessary gold and find a place to buy it. It's ability for this game is modified as such: It does not destroy players, planeswalkers, or indestructible permanents. It also does not destroy lands, instead causing them to be unable to be channeled for mana. It does cause players to be unable to draw mana until end of combat.
