It makes sense also. Think of the cards as default spells. They're just basic buildingblock spells. Shit any mage could use with enough power. The good mages are the ones that tweak them slightly to work better with the rest of their spells. For example, Livi's boar is the boar from her backstory. It's not a Generic Summoned Boar.

My opening hand had 3 BOPs in it.

And IIRC even in locked you can spell, you just get reduced Mana.

Also lol that card is terrible.

Also dudes, chill, Detain drops adter a turn.

Thing is, "Opening Hand" is something I have not seen anywhere except in your comments.

I also can't seem to find how my manapool would be filled.

Right now Draw was mentioned...


It is not that I don't understand the intentions of all these things, but how they fit or work in this scenario, still escapes me.

Basically, I am unaware of what I could even possibly do right now, except the arguably worst possible action - attacking with my char itself.

Detain, yes. Detention sphere, no.

You start with a already determined hand, and each turn you draw a random card. You may start with the same card, and you may draw compies of a card you have already drawn.

Mana pool is already filled before combat starts. you have access to 5-6 mana.

No worries, The system is still a bit new to me, but I'm constantly looking it over.

So, wait, your mana pool is your Color Identities plus your Mastery?
(I.E. RBB and 3 Mastery would be Red+Black+Black = 3, +3?)

Well, but with what mana is the said pool filled? In my case, I am BGB.

If it goes by fraction, I should have 4 black, 1 green.
If it goes by sequence, I would have 3 black, 2 green

Actually, I think the later would make the most sense

No. Your mana pool is your total Channeling. The colors you can draw upon are your Color Identity. If you happen to have something that gives you color you can't draw, then you can use that color.

So a person with 6 channeling can draw up to 6 mana of any color that's in their Color Identity.

@ Escaped Lurker, It's which ever colors you want.

Also, question about cards: The mana cost is represented by the different color identities on the card, not the number, right? (Two white symbols + a #2 would just be 2 white mana.)

So, if a Cards mana cost is 2GR it costs 1 Red mana, 1 Green mana, and 2 other mana of any color or colorless mana. So to pay the cost you have to use at least 1 green and 1 red, but you can spend another green and red to pay for the 2.

Well then, now this is coming together...

I think I'll stay with that 3 black, 2 green.

As for my 5 "prepared" spells, if we are still able to choose those, I guess my choice would be this;

Pharika's Cure
Ambush Viper
Deathgaze Cockatrice
Sousuke's Summons

Else, roll that d12 for all I care ^_°

I would like to point out that lorewise, Planeswalker sparks are infinite mana springs effectively. There were several books involving that as a major plotpoint.

True, But a Detention sphere prevents all activated abilties as well as preventing Attacking and blocking, so you understand why the mana is limited inside it yeah?
