Spiderbot:
This machine is equipped with eight tentacle-shaped appendages, each ending with a metallic matter that can reshape itself into practically any tool. They are able to absorb matter by deconstructing it down to the molecular level. Said matter can either be used by the machine to self-replicate or to use as a building material, expelling it from one of it's appendage in the form of a quickly solidifying foam (or a spray if liquid or gaseous), which can then be shaped by it's many tools, including a laser cutter. It use one main thruster on it's back to propel itself, and use a series of smaller ones on it's sides for precision movement and stabilization. Each appendage comes with folding solar panels inside that are used as a main power source, but it can also connect itself to any power source with it's tentacles if necessary (useful when working indoors). I would give it some sort of anti-gravity field or ability since it is designed to work better in a zero gravity environment, although it could function well without this ability if it isn't possible to add.

It should be able to perform most tasks, from large scale construction to minor maintenance.

Speaking of which, I forgot to mention their size. They should be slightly taller than humans when standing vertically with tentacles upright. I suppose smaller models could be made to deal with tasks of a smaller scale."
