Well, let's say you're going away from Earth on huge spaceship and suddenly shit goes wrong and you have Super Mutants. Social Experiments prepared them for this.

Maybe it's time I abandon this thread if it is...

My girlfriend was on holiday, and I wanted to go see the new Star Wars with her when she got back. We were video-chatting, and she said "Hey I know a Star Wars Spoiler". Instantly threw off my headphones. Shouted at her by holding up the mike sounding like I was negotiating a hostage situation, and she is just giggling like mad. When she finally convinces me its okay, she tells me the spoiler: "Harrison Ford is Indiana Jones."

I hung up on her.

Is it just me, or is it not as much absolute suicide to have engagements that last more than one turn in XCOM2? I remember in EU that if you didn't kill everything before it could fire back you were probably going to get fucked somehow, but here I'm feeling that's less the case. I'm not really sure what mechanic it is that does it though.

I did fine in 2-3 turn shootouts in NewCOM, particularly at later levels where everyone had tons of armor.  Being in cover meant very few crits, after all.

I played on Normal though because I am a scrub.

Even on higher difficulties in Long War you could get away with it, as long as you made careful use of cover, hunker, and debuffs/OW.

Met my first Faceless. Despite the heavy foreshadowing by the game that it would appear in that mission, I still got surprised by where it showed up... and by how it missed the out-of-cover (an ADVENT trooper destroyed it) soldier next to it.
