IIRC wasn't Starcraft 1 basically a reworked 40k prototype that Blizz finished after GW rejected their first proposal? Hence all the similarities and stuff.

IIRC wasn't Starcraft 1 basically a reworked 40k prototype that Blizz finished after GW rejected their first proposal? Hence all the similarities and stuff.
That was Warcraft 1, I think. SC1 came later (1998), after WC2 even (1995).

SC1 was just broadly inspired by 40K, as opposed to WC1 which was basically WHFB with the serial numbers filed off.

Urban legend. As implied by the fact that both versions exist, and in some cases exist simultaneously. And the fact that there's no source for any variant of it whatsoever.
