Can't tell if legitimate troll

Because trolls are all about placating people and discouraging them from arguing and wishing that everyone would chill and have a good time.  TOTALLY.

I'm going to take another couple months off from this thread and see what comes up in the meantime.  as you were.

Ignoring someone because they called you out on your BS excuses?  ::)

Like, this ain't headcanon. This is a straightforward extrapolation of the reasons for these circumstances based on known information. It's not as if this is professional research in a highly technical field, it's more like junior-high level critical thinking.

XCOM using bullets is actually skullgun, the "ballistic" weapons actually fire tiny knives. That's why you can hit a shot but it only does 1 damage, all of the knives hit handle-first.

Nah, XCOM uses 5.56 armor piercing rounds that just go through the enemy leaving a tiny hole behind.

That is, until armored enemies show, by that time they are using rounds that fragment against armor inorder to limit friendly fire, and also hostile fire while they are at it.

Can't tell if legitimate troll or just an unbelievable lack of self-awareness. Anyway, the new wilderness and suburban settings look amazing. I'm assuming they'll be procedurally generated like the urban maps but has there been any official word on that yet? Also I'm guessing some plot-critical levels will be built rather than generated but I don't think anything's been said about that either.

Fairly certain that plot-critical levels were said to be handmade. It would only make sense of suburban/wilderness maps were procedurally generated, but probably not with the same exact method used for city maps.

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

So, while we wait for XCOM 2, we can play the unofficial prequel/sequel EXLCOM.

Ok I am not going to lie

I'd find it hilarious if there was a game that took place after the first Xcom... but before anymore aliens.

It is just you needing to organize a team that is essentially doing nothing. So you have to handle the press, train soldiers, improve tech not because aliens but because you need to prove to the governments of the world to keep funding you even without UFOs overhead.

That makes me a little disappointed that XCOM 2 isn't the highly-forshadowed "Oh shit we have advanced alien weapon and bionic technology, what do" period.  Where old enmities between the nations of Earth are rekindled by this dump of absurdly dangerous tech.

Fact is...  Exalt-like groups would have come about without the aliens.  Vicious genemodded stormtroopers, I mean.  They even could have kept XCOM as an "extra-legal" entity, trying to stomp out brushfires and manage a rapidly developing world crisis.

Oh wait, mods! :D

To be honest this kinds happens in XCom Apocalypse backstory.

XCom turns into a private owned enterprise but most of its non alien fightiong existence was centered around keeping cydonia and the alien tech that remained there safe from possible scavengers.
