LET ME MAKE IT VERY CLEAR AS THE GUY WHO BROUGHT UP THE XCOM / X-COM THING IN THE FIRST PLACE

It doesn't matter. It really, really, really, really, really, doesn't matter.

It's not passive-agressiveness. It's not spitting in your rose-tinted eyes.

But what DOES MATTER IS THAT YOU ARE

POSTING IN THE WRONG THREAD

we apologise for any cruel torture mobile users may have encountered reading this post. And also it's crudity.

I do believe we'll be enhancing our relaxed states for a bit.

Now, it took all of two hours to start fighting last time, so please do not do so again. I am on vacation and cannot keep close tab on this thread, so I can't police you all even if I wanted to. I'd rather we not lose this thread, but if people act up Toady is sure to crack down on it. Please follow the thread guidelines outlined in the opening post. If these are unacceptable to you, remember that there is literally nothing stopping you from making your own thread.

I think the idea now is that NONE of the aliens will be weak, that role will fall onto ADVENT.

You misspelled seance.  Are possessing Draignean?  Are you actually a ghost in the shell? You have to tell us if you are, that's the rule

Pretty much. So... any guesses as to how many aliens they will still reveal? I'm still hoping for something like a Sectopod. I guess ethereals will be inevitable as it makes no sense for them not to be in the game.

It looks like all or most of the old aliens will be updated in some form for the new.  Its more a question of how many original aliens they add, but then... they might not want to tell us about those.

I'm already at the point where I won't click on any interviews or anything because I want to leave some amount of wonder for the game itself.

Combined with Apache Attack Helicopters. Or sectopods.

Or both.

To counter the misfit rebels of Xcom, the Ethereals programmed Cyberdiscs to believe they are misfit rebels in a world ruled by Xcom.  So they roam the wastes wearing lots of leather and skulls, performing morally ambiguous terrorist attacks on human settlements.

By the way, like in XCOM: Enemy Unknown's logo, the hyphen is right there in XCOM 2's.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Right there, cutting through "COM". It's no coincidence, and the devs themselves admitted it on interviews around the release of the first Firaxis game.

Now, back to your alien waifu/husbando fantasizing.

Personally, I find it odd they'd give breast-likes to the Viper, but I suppose it's part of the human hybridization programmes. At any rate, they're likely egg/venom sacs as those would make a lot more sense for a reptile. A non-mammal wouldn't have milk, and egg-based reproduction seems more sensible. The original Snakemen were hermaphrodites and carried many eggs within them.
